Have a remote start in it. It is running the green wire just behind the little change foldout pocket.Once you turn on the parking lights or headlights then turn them off they stay on outside. What could be the cause of it and problem so it can be fixed. Relay, module, headlight switch what?
when you shut off the car do the lights go out?these cars have stupid lights... drl and auto headlights maybe they are just on anyway.(too dark, or just triggered on by you turning on the park lights?)if they stay on when the key is out and engine off, i would blame the remote start wiring.

once you shut off headlights and parking lights, the outside parking lights stay on as does the the lights for the radio controls. If it was from the remote start what is needed to fix this problem?
vibes have automatic on headlightswhen it gets dark the headlights come on automaticlyso if it is dark when you turn off the switch for the headlights... they will stay on until it gets light enough or you shut off the car.

Was this problem caused when the remote start was installed? A remote starter usually flashes the parking lights when it is activated. This requires attaching a wire to the lights. The Vibe requires a negative pulse on this connection. Most remote starters by default provide a positive pulse. Read your remote starter installation manual. There is almost always a way to set it for negative pulse. But the problem is, if a positive pulse was provided even once it takes out the daytime running lights module which causes the problem you described. It cost around $300 for the dealer to replace this. I think the part can be ordered online for less than $100.
if the hood switch is bad and it thinks the hood is open the lights will stay on with some systems as well.but Im still leaning on the Auto lights thing

now it does sound like a remote start install problem.most of what you will find on here is to do with disabling the DRLhttp://dalenet.com/matrixvibe/but it will show you where it is... above the brake pedal.good luck, remote start wiring issues are a PITA (or can be)

If you need to turn off the parking lights, pull the fuse. You can then re-insert the fuse and they will stay off until turned on again. Then you need to repeat the process to turn them off again. The above link provided by CAN-AWD-VIBE will give you an idea where the module is located. There is a sticker on the unit calling it "Relay Assy. Running Light" Then some numbers "82810-02050 486811-10340". The part is called DRL Module and it's part # is 88973265. The dealer will charge about $140 for it plus about $200 labor if he puts it in. It's not that hard to put in. I think the bulk of the labor is troubleshooting to make sure that is the problem before replacing. You can order it gmpartsdirect.com for $69.This happens more often than it should when remote starters are installed. The RS needs to be programmed for a negative pulse before connecting to the parking lights or this is the result. Who installed your RS? What kind is it? If it was any kind of shop/business they should pick up the tab. Of course they may not admit to the botched install. You will need to correct the RS/parking light connection before installing the new DRL module or you will fry that one too.
My 2005 vibe is having this same issue. It started about a week after the remote start brains were replaced. Would it take this long to break the module in question? The RS was entirely removed and the symptom remains. I either have to remove the brake inline fuse or cycle the engine on and off with the light switch in the off position for the rear park lights to go off. By the way the link that was mentioned does not work anymore. Is there a new one.Should I replace the module. Is this the most likely issue.THANKS
