My understanding is that there are two types: NEW part #12498684 (as shown in your photos and on the GM Goodwrench website and available for about $150 for the pair) and OLD part #88969754 (not shown on the GM Goodwrench website but available on special order for about $350 for the pair).I haven't seen the new part other than from the GM web picture you have below, but the dealer told me that they are equivalent to after market racks from Thule or Yakima. The OLD part are the utility bars that are design to fit into the slots of the Vibe's roof rails and be flush with the roof rails rather than mount on top of the rails like the new part. (See this thread for related discussion: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=13989 ). (See this thread for discussion on how to install/uninstall the OLD part with a link to pictures: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=11484 ).The problem with the OLD part, even though it look better because of the lower/flush profile after installation, is the shape of the utilities bars. They are not round or square bars that can take commonly marketed bike racks. They are sort of ovalish/flat shaped. Therefore you can get Thule/Yakima accessories to mount ski racks (using their "universal" mounts), but I don't think they work for bike racks. I think you would either have to do a custom job to attached a bike rack to the roof or go for the after-market utility bars. [Follow-up note: I found that Rocky Mounts sells a bike rack that will attach to the OLD/ovalish/flat utility bars. It is the Noose SL model. You have to buy a $5.00 short bolt kit in addition to the rack because there is relatively low clearance between the OLD utility bars and the roof.)In any event, do your research to figure out what you want to mount to the utility bars before you buy the old part because they are pricey. [Follow-up note: Also confirm the roof to utility bar clearance required to mount something to the rails.]Good luck.

How about some kind of bike system for inside the car? I thought I read about this somewhere, but no idea where. The attachment fasten to the slides in the floor then the bike front fork is fasten to that.

i thought i saw one for the inside too... but I can not find it anywhere. We had a thread about it not long ago.the flat OEM style crossbars need an adapter for thule rack stuff (bike racks or ski racks) to fit. FM1 I think... its the same on my Subaru.

I just found that Rocky Mounts sells a bick rack that will work with the Vibe OLD ovalish/flat utility bars part #88969754. It is the Noose SL model sold by Rocky Mounts. It requires a $5.00 sort bolt kit (Rocky Mount part #0695) because of the low clearance between the utility bars and the roof. I haven't been able to confirm that Thule or Yakima sell the appropriate mounts for bike racks with this model utility bar (only for ski racks). Maybe because of the roof-bar clearance or load issues? In regards to an interior bike rack using the floor slots... here is the thread I found with search: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=17585 or http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=16200. Someone did a custom job and there is a link to their photos.
