HU took a pooper!!!

Post by Mrizzle05 »

Yup... last night when i got outta work i turned my car on, and nit even two minutes with my car on, i heard this wierd noise. (not the normal "pop" from a fuse) and my stereo turns off and my gauges dim.So i realized it finally died... and my guages are powered to the stereo, so they are getting power... just not enough now.SOoooo, my buddy offered me last night his in-dash touchscreen dvd-sd reader HU. Its REALLY nice and i was shocked when he offered it to me.So tonight we try to get it to fit and work.ill post some pics tonight when i get home... R.I.P Pioneer POS!!!

I'd like to say I feel bad that you HU died, but with an in-dash touchscreen dvd-sd reader HU for free, I only feel bad for the rest of us with the factory HU that's chipping paint.

Well not for free.... member lil lady nothing in life is for free! Im giving him some money, cuz hes gonna upgrade, but i didnt want it to go/ nor expect it too so soon.It was acting up, but like a beater they all act up but they still run.mine was just on its last circuit.I was gonna go pioneer premier that someone on 9thgen had, but a lcd hu is probably better and for the price its way worth it.Just didnt wanna get it so soon .Im really tryin not to mod... really!

I'm thinking about:maybe not chrome/silver face, black would be niceblue/green lightsnothing too complicated to useCD playerFM/AMIt has to fit or looks like it belongs (my friend got a HU, and it just sat crooked in the hole where the radio use to be, looked like crap.)I am really very simple, I don't want anything flashy.as far as price goes, under or around $150.

Have you checked out the Crutchfield website yet, Kelly. They have many styles to choose from, free shipping, and free adaptors. I replaced my stock HU right after I bought my car. It was incredibly easy. With the other mods you did, this should be a piece of cake. They even include an adaptor that plugs into the stock wiring harness.

Dude, you can watch TV on that! Now you need one of those cool limo-style TV antennas like you'd see on tha trunk of a 1980's lincoln or caddy!
