Cleaning Short Ram or Cold Air Intake Filters

Post by Mario »

My Cosmo Cold Air Intake filter is reuseable. The question is, how do I properly clean this thing? My friend was telling me about some K&N solution that you submerse the filter into, but I'm not so sure how well it will work. Any insight will be appreciated.

K&N makes a recharge kit, and theres 2 spray bottles of liquid, no submerging of that but you do have to wash it with warm water.

K&N recharge kit is what I have used for 4 years on my Cosmos. The kit is a bout $13.00. Just don't over oil the filter or the MAF sensor will get oil on it and your check engine light will come on. It's been about ten months since I cleaned mine, I should do it before winter.P.S. It's 4:15pm. I cleaned my filter and did an oil change. The filter was not bad for 10 months and over 30,000 miles. I cut the end of the intake pipe about 2" shorter to make the next cleaning easier.

Are these recharge kits online or can I just get them at any auto supply store?

Any auto store should have the recharge kits.
