Yeah the stock 2003 batteries were 360 CCA I think (?). Someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Surprisingly I am still on my stock battery and we've gotten as cold as -30 C here.

I went straight from stock to my Optima. I think I discharged it once, but man, i've never had a problem starting up since.

New user today! I would like to mention that my stock battery (Delphi) died yesterday. Year: 2003, base, automatic. Lasted 6 years on 310CCA. WOW... Impressive. Now..... what brand/CCA is recommended to replace it..... I am considering Kirkland (Costco) for their warranty policy, or Interstate from others brand recommendations.

Costco - that is what Jake75 has done. Price, warranty, and CCA were very good from my understanding.

I decided on the Kirkland battery. Battery stamped "10/09". Hope it lasts as long as the original/stock battery.
