transfer case drain/fill plugs

Post by soosh4me »

Is anyone able to tell me where the transfer case drain and refill plugs are for my 2004 AWD Vibe? I would like to change out the gear lube but when i look at the transfer case there looks like a few possible plugs and i want to be sure which is right. There are two plugs that are close to each other with hex heads on them. They look like the likely canidates. I was expecting Allen heads though like the differential. thanks

hi, and welcome to genvibeThis PDF shows about where the plugs are, in another doc it says the #2 plug is the fill plug. Hopefully comparing the picture to the actual transfer case will help you figure it out, and if so, post up a picture of the plugs when you get it figured out.

thanks for the pic. They are the two plugs i thought. I will try to take a few pics when i get to the gear lube change. I also see that you should replace the gaskets. well, i may just skip that step. I never replaced a oil plug gasket in my life and have had no leaks. thanks again.
