Was all set to pick up my vibe today, and guess what ... IT WAS SOLD TO SOMEONE ELSE!!! It was a dealer trade, and the dealer that my dealer was getting the car from sold the car. Apparently they had it taken off the lot, put the "SOLD" sticker on it and everything, and someone came up with the money right there and said they had to have that one, so they got it. Needless to say, my dealer was very angry, as well as myself and my family. So, I am vibe-less for the time being. We spent 2 hours or so going over dealer stock and other dealer's to see what we can do to get me another one. It's amazing to see how fast these things are selling (One dealership was called 7 times about a Satallite vibe they had, which was already sold)So, there are 4 being looked at that I am getting a call back tomorrow about. They are all base vibe, power package and moon & tunes. I am looking at a Satallite, and 3 Shadow ones w/Monotone package. I feel bad because now I am doubting my original choice for color originaly. (I love the war the Satallite looks with the cladding, but I also like the Shadow w/Mono, but Sat w/cladding just a hair more ... oh well)I feel bad that we have to go through all this extra work on something that was supposed to be simple. Oh well, at least the dealer has been steller thus far. I'll reportback when I have some more news. I'm getting a Vibe, I just have no idea when.
Geo, That's awful news man, I am supposed to get my Vibe with in a week. The dealer is going to pick it up form the other lot (I'm also in the process of a dealer trade). Hopefully that doesn't happen to me. Good luck with your Vibe! btw, I'm getting a Base, Neptune, 5-speed, power package, ABS, and 17in wheels. I can't wait!

Chin up pal, you'll get yours. I had the same problem when getting my Satellite Vibe. I missed 3 before my dealer finally got me one (even before it was delivered to the other dealership).
sounds like what happen to me, i went thru 4 vibes in 3 days before i actually caught one. kinda pissed me off, but nobodys fault really i guess. the demand is just really high.

You should have bought one in Kansas. I wanted a solid Neptune base, and mentioned that to my salesman. The very next day there was one on the lot. I owned it a week later. But I feel for you. Don't give up. You'll love your Vibe once you have one.KSNeptune.
sorry to hear about that guy... ..... Should come up here to BC and deal with my guy....... I gave him a short list of vehicles I wanted and he found one in a day..... (was my second choice but after getting it i like it better) first choice was a Satelite but I got a Shadow instead. My car was also a dealer trade and the car before this as well both were done with out any problems.......... Get the shadow monotone..... It is an awsome color......
quote:Should come up here to BC and deal with my guy....... I don't know about you, but when I bought my Vibe GT, I had to sign a disclaimer that I wouldn't sell it to the US.I don't know if Americans can buy a car here. The dealer said something that weird about pricing error made the cars cheaper here. I didn't understand it myself, but I bought my car for myself.Besides Canadian Vibe's have the speedo in KMs and the temp gauge in Celsius. Can Americans deal with the metric system?

You can take a 2 hour drive east to Plymouth, WI in Sheboygan County. Meyer Motors has 5 Vibes that have been sitting there for the last 2 months. Also a monitone silver and two tone. I haven't seen any GT's though. I bought my first car from them and was VERY pleased. They're shop is also very nice.

Man that sucks! The exact same thing happened to me an my wife when we were buying her Aztek. She picked out a blue one with all the options she wanted. The put it in back with a sold sign on it although we didn't put anything down. A couple days later, my dealer called me and told me the bad news. Someone else had come in and bought it in cash. Apperantely the sold sign fell down so another dealer sold it. My wife was really pissed off. I was as well. My salesman did everything to find one just like it. He ended up finding one that had all the same options, but it was different color. The color she got was the dark red, which was our second choice anyways but that's not the point. To get your hopes up about a car and then to have it taken right out from under you really sucks. This is one reason my wife and I planned when we were going to get the Vibe. By planning it out, I was able to order mine exactly the way I wanted it and it wouldn't be sold to someone else because I had a deposit on it. My wife teases me from time to time about me getting to order one and she had to take on off of the lot. So next time she gets a new car, we are ordering hers as well. Actually, I plan on ordering all new vehicles I get from now on. It's the only way to go if you can do it.

Well things do happen for a reason right? Maybe you'll get another one that you'll like better. I have the Satellite with the cladding and think it is the best one BY FAR! It looks so nice and shiny! Very clean. Good Luck!
Small update:Well, they found one! ... Not sold, in Satallite 2-tone, with all the options I wanted. They even drove up to get it today to make sure I got it. Ironically enough, they get there, and it's sold. Oh well, the search continues! I remain optomistic, and yes, I do believe that everything happens for a reason. On a side note, 2004 model years start coming in at the end of March, so who knows, I might just be able to order a brand new one if things continue like they have been. More updates as they come in
since 2004 model is coming in, you might be able to get even more rebates in April.make sure you can get that $1000 loyalty rebate. if you don't currently own a GM, tried to get a friend/relative to sell you their GM temporarily. if it is between parents/kids/siblings, there is no tax involved.also why are you so set on buying from that particular dealer? like Lancer's post said, other dealers have plenty of stocks. at least, spend 60 seconds, go to http://www.carsdirect.com, it gives a real time quote. so you will know at least if you got a good price or not. carsdirect.com is the number one car sales website, owned by Amazon. no haggling. after you do a few clicks on the site, they will call you with exact amount for a cashier's check to bring to the dealer, they will also give you car's vin number.

Try Holiday Automotive in Fond du Lac, WI. They had 5 vibes on the lot when I bought mine. They also have a guy that does custom striping on it by hand (check my "new guy" thread for a pic).Just did a search on holidayautomotive.com and they have a sattelite, abyss, and a neptune on hand.Give them a call...ask for Jeff Hopper...I dealt with him all the way from St. Cloud, MN because he always worked well with my parents while I was growing up, and now I bought my first car from him
It's so amazing to read other people's bad experiences with dealer trades and getting their Vibes. It makes me feel a little better after the nightmare I went through. I wanted a lava two-tone base...and told my dealer that. He said he found it at another dealer..so I put down a downpayment, and they asked me when I wanted to pick it up. Two days later I found out they were STILL looking to find me the Vibe I wanted (after they told me that had definitely found one). I was pissed and said I wanted my money back. When I told them that, all of a sudden, they found the exact one I wanted...again. And once again, they lied. They said "we found your car, but it will be 500 dollars more" (They could only find a lava monotone with alloy wheels). Because they lied again, I canceled the deal and said I wanted my money back. I went to another dealer, where I ended up falling in love with an Abyss monotone. I paid the 500 more, but I didn't care...I didn't want to give the other dealer my money after they lied to me repeatidly. By the way, I am still waiting to get my downpayment back in the mail from them. It's been about a week now.
