Struts

Post by Credz »

Well, It looks like i need a new strut at the Front Drivers Side. The technician said it was the valving or something along those lines. So Im going to take it to the Dealership to see if they will cover it but i Doubt it since i have it lowered lol. The Tech. also said something about Adjustable Struts as well?

You might want to consider buying Koni struts instead of the stock KYB ones. If the dealer won't pay for it, you can get a set of 4 KYB on Ebay for $240.00 plus $29.00 shipping. The dealer probably charges about $150.00 for the one strut.http://cgi.ebay.ca/KYB-GR-2-GR...wItem They are $88.50 at GM Partsdirecthttp://www.gmpartsdirect.com/c...82372

Well the Tech. at the garage said I could probably get away with just getting one strut since i dont have that much milage on it yet. I was considering putting the stock springs back on cause ever since i lowered it the one spring where the strut went out kept giving me trouble, but the other 3 are fine. It would be way cheaper to just get the strut though. I dont really know what to do yet. I have a few days over the weekend to decide I guess.

Its been awhile and strut really hasnt gotten any worse, stayed the same. But, Im going to call the garage this week sometime and get them to get the new strut for me and get it installed. I was thinking about having them put in the Weapon R Secret Air Intake when I get it as well.

new struts but the squeak is back? Everything is tight in the suspension? no dry or damaged bushings? nothing loose? And are you on the same springs with these new struts with the squeak back?

Yeah the same springs. Everytime I take it to the garage they never find anything wrong with it. Just lube it up and things are fine for about 2-3 weeks. But next week I have a appointment at a different garage to see if they can find anything. Its just so weird cause the other 3 wheels are fine, its just that same wheel everytime.
