Oil Changes

Post by daughertyryan »

Yeah, has anyone got their oil changed yet outside the dealership? I went to get my oil changed the other day at a local place and they didn't have the specs for a 2003 vibe so they said go back to the dealer. My question is this: are there any oil change places out there that do have the specs? If not, has anyone tried to change it themselves? I assume that you can use the same oil filter as a 2002 Corolla but I wasn't absolutely sure. Help me here!

Had the same problem. Went to two different oil change places and they both said take it to the dealer.Ended up doing it myself. Only took about 30 minutes. There is enough ground clearance and space in the engine compartment to make it easy to do yourself. As for the, I don't have the part # handy, but I saw it in another post.

The vibe GT doesn't have a toyota engine...It's a Yamaha.

Actually I think the GT engine is Toyota built, Yamaha tuned. At least that was the impression I got.Kind of like the engine in the older Taurus SHO I guess.
