Post by Mrizzle05 »

So im heading on a 200+ mile trip tonight and my clutch starts to act up... a lot. I dont know what it is, and input would help....When im in first and try and take of... if its not perfect then my car shakes a lil and sometimes i hear a clank sound under the console area (i think)Then in second i push the clutch in to brake and stop, then i am able to go again and i slowly let go of the clutch and gave gas it shutters again.I think its cuz its trying to grab the clutch and it having a problem... so any input?

Assuming that it never used to be this way and now it is, then that implies it is not normal for your car. The cars are a bit humble for low end torque.A clank sound is odd though, can't think of what in the clutch assembly would clank. If not the clutch, maybe a CV joint? Does the parking brake really disengage? (Check for hot rear wheels after driving a bit) Any problems in any other gears?

I know what that shuder is, and its normal when your too low and about to stall, but mines when i taking off and give it enough... but not perfect.Ima see if a tranny cousin can take a look at it. It does it in the lower RPMs, but mostly first when i take off... it just never happened like how it feels before. Thanks for the input

My Jeep used to make a clank noise underneath when the transmission mount was going bad.
