i have seen a lot of vibes running around with out an exhaust tip on them and then i seen someone on here that said they went to there dealer and had bought one , i just bought a 2003 vibe at the dealership that i work at and a few days after i had bought it a tip can in for it , and all the ones on our lot it was a dealer installed item, it may be something that everyone can check into if yours doesnt have one
The tip is an option that came out around the beginning of the year. I'm sure the dealers are rolling the $60+ into the cost of the car since it's an easy way to make a dollar. I do wish this was an option when I got mine since me tip now looks like a rusted piece of junk.
I went to Pep Boys and picked up a stainless steel one for about $4. It will be welded on when I have them put on the Flowmaster 60 series muffler that I ordered a few days ago.
