Actually i wanted a shadow(base 5 speed), and when i went to the dealer he said the wait could be up to six months for an "ordered" car, but if i wanted one that had been preferenced i could have it alot sooner. So, he searched some database and found me a satelite(base 5 speed) with all the same options i wanted on the shadow. I took it and by the time i get it the wait will only have been 9 weeks.

Lucky for you that you have a dealer that can deal. Mine claims that no other dealers are trading for Vibes. They would rather sell all they can for themselves. Perhaps they had ordered a 5 speed for their own dealership?

could be,...although they claimed they have swapped other vehicles in order to obtain vibes for customers

I just found out yesterday that my Lava AWD is en route also! Since it only has to get to Indiana it should be a little faster trip than going up north. Can any other midwesterner comment on how long it took your Vibe to arrive from the factory?Brian Baker

Well, wouldn't you know it! The magic call came yesterday evening! We went over to check out the car and take care of the paperwork. The dealer is having it prepped and cleaned today and my wife is taking me to pick it up after work today. I never thought one work day could last so long! What's also cool is that I get my first mini-road trip tomorrow. About a 200-mi round trip to a family reunion. But I'm really looking forward to our Florida vacation in about 2 weeks. Should be fun!

I just about fell off my chair today!!! The customer service rep. at GM Canada informed me that my Vibe is FINALLY built. I ordered it on April 15th. The build date was August 19th. It must have been built the end of last week. Base, Salsa, power, 16 alum, 5 speed.I will tell you that I have been "envy" with envy at everyone who has already received their Vibes. The anticipation has just about killed me. Only two weeks to go!! YAHOOOOO!!!!!
