Hey all I have an '03 AWD Vibe and was curious as to know what is needed to lower my car. If I do this I want to do it all at once and correctly. I'm not a fan of doing half a$$ed things. So let me know what I should get! Thank you all!

yeah I'm not too keen on the whole cai thing. I had a K&N filter on my pick-up and felt no gain in power, plus I don't like the idea of letting little dust particles into my engine. Other than that I guess we'll just have to wait. I heard that Borla is working on an exhausty for us but it won't be out for a while.

Hmm Cali huh? I guess either a road trip is in the works or we are going to have to wait on this. I'm a little far (opposite coast) from there.

dude, i would not screw with that wishbone suspension whatsoever!!!!there all a lot of warrenty parts that would not be covered if you lower that awd vibe. if you do that wrong by just a little bit you could burn up your awd. be very very very carefull with that awd. your car is awesome the way it is.
Hey Coratz thanks for the heads up! I guess I'll deal with what I have then huh? No need in seriously messing my stuff up.

The CAI will give you much more HP gain than any exhaust will. For the 1zz engine, I believe that the dyno showed a 16 HP gain. An exhaust system may give you about 4 HP max. And beware of free-flowing exhaust systems with 4-poppers. From what others have been reading and posting on here, 4 cylinder engines perform better with some back pressure in the exhaust system. Free flowing exhausts tend to hurt the performance. The CAI has a K&N filter on the end of it, but that is not what generates the HP gain. HP is gained because the airflow restrictions of the factory filter box and tubing are eliminated. Also, the colder air from outside the engine compartment is drawn into the engine giving more power vs. the warmer air that the factory system draws in. You should have no problems with dirt getting into the engine unless you plan on driving through swamps on a regular basis. The K&N filter is far superior in filtration abilities to any filter you can put in the factory airbox.

Any HP gain claims from those manufacturers available? The Thermal system, and possibly Greddy, maybe a few others might give you a few more HP than most others, but HP for the buck, you can't beat a CAI.

Yeah, but I was trying to compare one mod to the other.

Bang for the buck, the CAI can't be beat. Reprogrammed computer chips are probably the next closest thing, but probably won't work on the Vibes. Besides, nobody is bothering to make them yet.
