In my quest this year to make my intake and exhaust quieter, I have found that as I make changes to my intake, my interior resonance and exhaust sound has also changed. I knew it got louder when you put on an intake but didn't realize how much louder it is until I put my intake back to stock. I had a Weapon-R short ram and it was getting too loud for my taste. I then went back to my stock airbox and it quieted the interior noise down a bit but there was still a lot of interior resonance from the engine and exhaust. I bought the air tube that comes with the supercharger from damronjr (who wasn't needing it since he has a CAI on his Vibe) and installed it today. It runs from the oem hole in the airbox down to behind the foglight just like a CAI. The interior resonance has almost been eliminated and much more enjoyable to drive. It has decreased the exhaust noise as well. It idles better too. Just thought I would share my experience with y'all! Thanks again, Jason!

Since your there at the fog light, finish it off with ram air. Just a thought.

Kept the stock airbox and changed the piping from there to behind the headlight. It's kind of like the poor man CAI. But it definitely is better then stock. And best of all it does work. Drop a K&N in there and its almost the same thing.Well done!!!Did you also get the tube that runs from the throttle body up to the air box?and +1 on vibe Freak's request for pics

I have the plastic 90 degree connectors for the in-between but not the rubber tube that connects them. I'll have to fab that part later. I just have the oem rubber tubing between the airbox and TB for now. I'll take pics this Friday evening when I have my battery out again for a new ground wire install.

If a person went from the oem snorkle to this then they would see a small gain.I went from being basically snorkle-less to this so no power gains. Just smoother idle, smoother acceleration, quieter intake and exhaust, less resonance on the interior. Just what I was looking for.

Quick question, If I were to get a custom 2 1/2inch pipe made for the vibe, from the stock header on to the back, & make it into stright pipe, delete the stock muffler & cats, would there be any HP added?? Reason I'm asking bcuz I did it to my Ls1 firebird & I have longtube headers w/custom 3" Y pipe into true duals, my car dyno @ 354hp w/stall, gears, Full Exhaust, & bigger injectors, has anybody done it to the vibe or matrix??
I can see top end HP being freed up, but with no cat you'd fail any emissions tests and with no backpressure you're low end torque could suffer. Oh... there's also the loud factor....
i pulled that snorkel tube outta my car, i love the extra noise, i think it sounds a little more aggressive.i have that and a K&N air filter, i felt a power increase wayy bigger than i was expecting. but noise, that just comes down to personal preference, which it should be obvious i like a loud motor
