I'm borrowing a gun from a "friend". Hopefully it's a good gun that won't jam. I guess I'll find out what kind of friend he is!

I've played a few times... great fun! Expect to come away with a few welts. It was always a mix - guys like us renting pump & shoot handguns in jeans & t-shirts, up to way-too-serious dudes with fully-automatic rifles fed by compressed air tank backbacks, and fully armored/padded camo outfits. (They give the big welts, too).My only suggestion would be: wear a cup. I never did, but I was younger and more stupid then. Considering the welts I got on other parts of the body, I cringe just thinking what might have happened....

I used to play on a league. Every other weekend. My teammate and I werevery dangerous together. He had the long 'sniper' barrel and made his gun up to be almost totally silent. He also had a ghuille suite. So I put him in the thick bushes on either flank. I was quick and hard to hit and pretty sneaky, so I was the bait. I draw the guys into my partners kill zone and with all the firing going on, he pluck's them off one by one. My team also liked to do alot of leapfrogging and L & R peeling. But getting them all to attack and charge a little when ambushed was a little hard. They mostly dove for cover. Watch the end battle of "Tear's of the Sun" w/ Bruce Willis to see how it's supposed to be done.Paint ball is awesome fun dude! You'll have a blast! My brother had his bachular (sp) party at an indoor paintball course.Wear layers of BAGGY clothes if you don't want to 'take it like a man'. And keep moving and shooting and communicate with your teammates. Talk on where the enemy is at and where your team is at.Good luck!

Well I had a blast (pun intended) at the paint ball match today. I was armed with my borrowed "WALLMART SPECIAL". The guys that showed up were pretty hard core. They had all these crazy high tech. big dollar guns that shot a hundred rounds per second. I'm a little bruised, but I think I'm going back for more punishment! I think I need a better gun, though. Let's see, a paint ball gun, or new speakers for the Vibe????

Yeah, those new fully auto guns sorta take the fun out of it. My buddy and I had VERY nice guns then this new guy shows up with an Angel (electronic trigger) and almost all by himself was able to pin my team down. Until he ran out of ammo. What scenarios did you play? heads up capture the flag. base defence. patrol/ambush.

We played elimination. There were about 8 to 10 guys per team. It was pretty much the guys with cheap guns, against the guys with expensive guns. Us "cheap" guys managed to win a few times. We played in the woods, so the trees and brush limited their range. That helped even things up.

My buddy and I once played one that we made up. Us 2 were to defend a building against 8. We were 'immortal', and the other team had to run back to the other side of the field before they could start again. I had to wear my body armor on that one! (yeah I had a 'spare' kevlar helmet and flack jacket from the Gulf War.)We did alright until they decided to all charge at once. I got a little carried away and got 2 peeps point blank in the head and one in the neck. Never played that one again.

I'm dragging my old paint ball thread back from the dead. After a couple of outings, I decided to get my own gun. So far I just shot up my pine tree, but on the 16'th I'm going try it out on people. Can't wait. I love this sport! http://www.actionvillage.com/i...O1WtJ#
