So why somebody have to pay more money in the States than in Canada.Did you know guys a basic vibe in the USA almost US$17000,but in Canada the same model is only CAN$19000(US$12000).So that is sucks!!!So I feel sorry for you guys in the USA.If you want to check it out go to the gmcanada.com!
Auto makers have come to realize Canadians aren't willing to pay as much for cars as Americans. This probabley because we have less disposable income and we aren't quite as obsessed with cars.
Autoweek.com has an article about dealers in U.S. buying new cars from Canada then selling them in U.S. and making a ton of money off it. The article also gives a little bit of the reason why cars are cheaper in Canada.

Sorry about that, go to autoweek.com, there is a section called car news, on the side there is a title "DCX hits back at gray market; warranties won't be honored on '03 models" That is the article. If that does not work if someone can explain how to attach the article i will.

Using the old copy and paste trick...The Autoweek Quote: .....Thus every vehicle a U.S. dealer buys in Canada at a discount is a vehicle the factory cannot sell at the higher U.S. wholesale price. Automakers defend the subsidy to Canadian dealers as a necessary evil to maintain a healthy market in Canada. Incomes are generally lower in Canada than in the United States and sales and excise taxes are higher, meaning vehicles are less affordable. "If we priced the same way in Canada, all we would sell would be Neons and regular-line vehicles," said Steven Landry, vice president of business center operations. The article is referring to Chrysler's move to not honour warranties on vehicles brought into the U.S. from Canada. The full text should be viewable here. http://www.autoweek.com/cat_print.mv?po ... 1660417605 Cheers Ken.

If this was a beer thread I would report that the beer is not cheaper ($30+ per 24 bottles plus deposit CAN) but most people find it better. Our sin taxes are very high. I have always found american beer to be just as satisfying and intoxicating on a hot dayHaving said that, this is supposed to be a forum about the Pontiac Vibe, so I will just say cheers! Ken.
