rubber

Post by CAN-AWD-VIBE »

Alright since the winter is coming the Michelins Artic Alpins are going on this week. These winter tires are not the greatest but with the AWD it does just fine.Since I don't want to ever put these RSA's on ever again I need to get summer rubber for my 17's. They have Yokohama Paradas on them now from my Prelude and the tires wont work for the Vibe. While I wait for Spring I can also keep a lookout for sales and stuff. So what P225/45R17 tire is best ... I don't need any winter consideration with these, strictly summer. So no Goodyear Triple treads ok.CAN-AWD-VIBE

it doesnt have to be Z rated... but I also dont need any sipes or soft blocks for snow or iceanyone with suggestions... I have found that BFG, Michelin and Goodyear all make tires in that size. Is any one better then the other because they sure are not the same prices.Im sure there are people who have a good idea what Im after... any tips?CAN-AWD-VIBE

I bought Kumho Exsta ASX and I like them very much. They are very quiet and are not harsh on bumps or pavement joints, and the price was very good at $ 93.00 each from Discount Tire. I chose them over some of the other tire options as they are asymetrical - but not directional. I like being able to rotate the tires from side to side to correct for wear and directional tires only allow rotation from front to back (I move the front tires straight back and cross the rears over to the front drive wheels using the old X to the drive wheel rotation method that I learned years ago). I have not driven the car in hard rain and I only have 3,000 miles on them - so I can't comment on wet weather traction or durability - but the reports on this tire from other people were good for those qualities.Dave
