FullBoar muffler

Post by mathteacher'04vibe »

Hello, I wish to increase the sound of my exhaust and I am considering having my awesome exhaust shop install a fullboar muffler on my vibe ('04 base, K&N typhoon this week). I do not want to spend $400 for the magnaflow for two reasons: 1) I am not made of money, 2) I have had great experience with the fullboar mufflers before. My '95 Camaro 3.4l has a fullboar 1 in 2 out muffler with 4" tips and sounds way better than any flowmaster I have ever heard on a v6. ($180 parts/labor less less the tips for stainless)My '00 Grand Am had a fullboar muffler put inline straight out the back with a 3.5" resonator tip and sounded sweet too. ($80 parts/labor less the tip).Has anyone installed a fullboar on a vibe? Any suggestions for a tip/size of tip. Thanks in advance for the help.

the magnaflow is a axel back system not just a muffler, thats why its a little more pricey. never heard of fullboar either. if you search the site theres plenty of posts with sound clips of members exhaust systems and what brand they used

I haven't heard of fullboar as well, so I can't comment on it. I went with a custom borla system, and it sounds great.

NorthVibe, Magnaflow is advertised as being cat-back. I think Borla, is the axle-back ur probably thinking of.

The fullboar mufflers have a higher cfm than most flowmasters. Check them out: http://199.236.118.103/PDFs/09...2.pdfThey do not sell direct to the public, but my local muffler shop uses them and even does custom exhausts for local dealers including Ford, BMW, and Chevrolet.I heard a F-350 5.4triton with duals and it sounded great.

I went with a 3.5" Resonator tip. The exhaust is on, CAI too. I will post some pics later tonight-maybe some sound clips if I can figure out how to...The sound is good--louder, but not a fart cannon sound. For $100 + $25 for the tip, I am happy. I think it sounds as good as the $400 magnaflow. Here's a pic of the Typhoon on.
