12 volt accessory wire needed

Post by satur9 »

okay heres my deliema .i need to find a 12 volt hot thats on when you turn the key to the acc. position. heres the catch i dont want to take off the radio .im already down to only two screws holding it in with a couple of busted clips on the trim. behind the glovebox and passenger kick panel is a ton of wires. i just need to add a inline tap to power my sat radio which only uses 2000mA .so almost any wire near that locale will do
look my sniggies, i had a strizz-oke in my brizz-ain okay, you know what im saying. so i cant move all good. but thanks for mentioning that .thank you very much.athf4evr. click here! you know you want to!!!

You can get it from under the center console (between the seats). The following thread shows how to get to it & what wire it is.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=13711

I tapped into the accessory plug by the shifter for my Sirius modulator. It's switched.

are you reffering to the lighter. if so dont you have to remove the radio? im really looking to be behind the glove box if possible.i just need to somebody that has schematics of all the stuff back there.

you dont have to remove the radio... the lighter is on that panel below it.I would take it from there and run a wire wherever you want... all those wires behind the glovebox have a more meaningful purpose compared to the cig lighter.my 2 centsCAN-AWD-VIBE

You probably don't want to mess with the stuff directly behind the glovebox, and by the way 2000ma is actually 2 amps, so that's hardly 'small'.
