Yesterday morning, I cleaned my MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor and that afternoon the car was acting weird.1. Car slightly bogs during hard acceleration2. Check Engine Light comes on close to redline (6200 RPM)All I cleaned was MAF Sensor and nothing else!On my way to skool, the car died. It started but it ran Very rough. Had it towed to Toyota.Replaced MAF Sensor was Bad! But had nothing to do with me cleaning it. O2 Sensor was bad too. It was great however that I didnt pay for anything!!Car is ok now!! Woohhoo!
wow thats weird you clean something then it goes to hell :S hahah i bet since they were both bad they were okay then when the MAF was cleaned it realized it was messed up and then the car ran rough Hey free fix thats always good
so, is there any way to know for sure when ur MAF sensor is bad? or do u just have to wait for it to get that bad, to the point where ur car goes crazy like that?

I cleaned it with MAF Cleaner. You can get a can of it from AutoZone or Checkers or any other car parts storeEDIT: All I did was unhook the battery, then unhook and screw off the MAF. Sprayed MAF Cleaner in it, waited 15 minutes to dry, plugged MAF back. Hooked battery. Started car. Car ran fine, but i few hours later is when it started acting weird.
