Don't ask me how it happend, my guess is the tranny shop guys since they were the last to mess with it. But I had to change my oil and oil filter cause it was almost 2 months over due. Almost got rained on so I was hurrying a little. But went to put the drain plug back in and started to tighten it a little and then it got really easy. Took the thing out and found some shavings that were the treads. I had another one and tried it but the treads (that were left) didn't match up.Is there any temporary fix I can do until I have some time to re-tap the drain plug? Think something like a silicon gasket would do the trick for now?

Don't know if this will work or not, but you could get one of the rubber freeze plugs and try that. You just have to get one that almost fits the hole, then you just tighten the **** out of it until it stops the leak. Worth a try and should work until you figure out a better way, plus it's cheap.

they sell self tapping oversized drain plugs at the parts store.they are better then a new oil pan but not by much... that will be the ultimate outcome down the road.sorryCAN-AWD-VIBE

Thank's for the ideas! Didn't know about the self tapping plugs. The lucky thing is that I have 2 plugs that I can use (I got the Morroso oil pan). One is for an oil temp probe. It's right next to the drian plug so if all else fails, I'll just weld or locktight it in and use the other plug.Just need something to keep my landlord from hasseling me about his precious driveway getting spotted.

Flatten out a cardboard box and put it underneath the car. Man that's gotta sucks to have a new-ish car with fluids pouring out of it as it is parked. I vote new oil pan, even though you have a custom one or whatever... You really, really, really don't want to lose your oil..... Or at least I wouldn't.

thats a good option to replacement!!! I didnt realized you had a aftermatket oil pan. As far as landlord boy, cardboard for now then get some TSP from Walmart or wherever and that will get rid of most of the spots.I've had a few leakers in my day.CAN-AWD-VIBE

Nope. It's the same in hight, just longer front to back. It holds about 5 1/2 qts. It's advertised to hold 6, but it's right in the middle of the markers on the dipstick at 5 1/2.Here's with the splash guards on.

Yeah, got it in preporation of getting a turbo cause it comes with a oil return plug and oil temp plug. Also I needed a new one cause I almost punctured the stock oil pan when I smacked a chunk of ice on the interstate going 80mph. It's a little hard to see in the photo.Oh, yeah, $280 for the Morosso. They give youa ton of stickers, too.

Where did you find it for $280? Do you have a part number for it? I noticed in the pic with the stock pan that you have an underdrive pulley... any problems with it and the alt pulley? Or do you not have it on anymore?
