College Football Rant (and poll)

Is anyone else sick of the BCS junk in college football? I'm just tired of only having a few teams contending for "The Championship Game" from the start of the year and then ESPN and other channels publicizing the crap out of them. I miss the days when it was just the Rose Bowl and the Sugar Bowl and the Cotton Bowl and a few others. Back when it was a big deal to actually make a bowl game.I wish the BCS was gone, along with a big chunk of today's bowl games. A team doesn't deserve a bowl game with only 4 wins, which is what college football has turned into. It's pathetic.so let's see if it's just me, or if you guys agree too. lol

I never was a fan of the BCS. I understand why it was put in place the way it was, but more often then not people still argued about who should be number 1 at the end of it all. I am a big fan of tradition so we can't just go out and get rid of a whole bunch of bowl games that have been around for many years. To be honest I like it the way that it used to be, Big Ten/Pac Ten in the Rose Bowl ACC/SEC in the Peach Bowl and so on and so on. But to determine the number one team I think their should be a play off. Take the top 4 teams and they don't go to a bowl game they go to a tournament. #1 plays #4, #2 plays #3 then the winners go to the championship game the next week to decide it. Keep the BCS standings the way they are set up now with strength of schedule, quality of wins and wins and loses all tabulated into the score. That way the number three team doesn't ***** anymore if they win and the number two team wins like it has happened several times in the past. Very simple solution, the only reason I can think of why this won't happen is money.

redlava, ur a frickin genius. I love everything about that plan that u thought up. Man, I wish us fans had a say in thisI like tradition too and I miss having those great rivalries between confrences at the end of each year.
