I know I will probably be bashed for that comment but I was wondering what other people thought of it. Where I work, I am always driving our company cars around for service or bringing people to the airport and stuff.Cars I drive regularly are:AleroCenturyCTSGrand AM GT Ram AirGrand Prix GTG6 GTImpala LSSaabTrailblazer I know the G6 is the replacement for the Grand Am but I have driven many different G6's and I just have no love for them. They bore me. At least the Grand Am is entertaining to throw around some corners. I know the build quality is better but the car was about as interesting as the last Taurus I drove.Pontiac. I know you're reading this. You could have done so much better.Styling-you should have stuck w/ the show car.Performance - PEOPLE like cars that handle well.If you truly want to be a BMW fighter(I know that's your target). Make handling the priority!G6= too much cush. And why? Tell me why all the front drivers listed above have to feel like the front end is about to fall out of them after 30000 miles? My VIbe feels solid at 40000. VW the same. Like the car is one piece. All these other cars feel like the front subframe is just hanging out there wobbling to a different tune when you hit a bump.I know some of you guys moved on from your Vibe to a G6 and I don't mean to offend you but, wouldn't you have been happier if they tried a little harder.By the way.The Grand Prix is a good car. I like it.CTS is disappointing too. I expected it to handle better as well. You know the pebbley plastic on the inside of planes by the window? That's what the door panels are like.Trailblazer - S-U-V Stupid Unnecessary VehicleCentury - Ha First car I got motion sick drivingImpala (2000-2005) - Strong car, crappy plastics.Saab - boo hooAlero - Nice interier I really wanted to like the G6. The Vibe has just spoiled me for how well a car can be designed.
is it the G6 GT 4 door or 2 door?Im not sure what you mean about the front end falling off on fwd cars, my vibe as 42k miles and it feels the same as 26k but better because of some mods i did (springs and STB). stock cars...eeuwww
The four door ones. What I meant was you hit a bump and you can feel the front end wiggle around out of harmony with the rest of the car. Like the engine, suspension and drive wheels are not quite bolted down to the rest of the car.My 94 cavailer was like this. How come they can't fix that? My camaro didn't feel that way. It's only the GM Front drivers.
If you thought the G6 drives bad after a while, you should have driven my Vibe there at the end before I dumped it. It scared the hell out of me to take it out on the interstate, it always felt like I was this close from losing control of it - even when trying to go around the slightest curve. hehBut anyway, I do like the G6 - particularly in coupe and convertible forms. If I had the money, I'd buy one for the Mrs. since I know she really loves 'em too.

I'm not really talking about reliability though. We have not had many issues with the G6's or my vibe for that matter which I own. I'm talking drivability, desirability and overall feel from an auto enthusiast's stand point. My Vibe feels like a sport sedan to me. The G6 is NOT a sport sedan. It feels to me that there is just too much comprimise toward cushy ride.
The bigger the car the harder it is to get the suspension tuned right. ragingfish as a 2 door g6, i bet it handles better than the 4 door. well since gm loves to cross platform car chassis i bet the g6 is based off a old buick hahah ridin on a cloud
I didn't care much for the 4 door G6, but the 2 door G6 GTP, now that one I really like. I had one for 24 hours while the Torrent was getting some work done. I really enjoyed driving the GTP, it was fun and zippy.
Sounds like your company isn't maintaining their fleet...or is doing a poor job of it.My dad has a G6 sedan, myself a coupe, and both drive beautifully. And trust me...either car I'll never hesitate to hit the corners hard with...
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

Pontiac is supposed to be serious about being a BMW fighter. The G6 doesn't stack up. Maybe in GTP form it handles a little better. But as it is, anything with a GT moniker on it should not handle like this. The car is heavier and feels slower than the Grand Am it replaced. In the car biz your supposed to move forward. With the exception of interior plastics, I think the G6 is a step back. I know your offended because you own one. But even when people would call my Cavalier a crappy design I would agree with them. I feel the same problems in the subframe of the chassis that my Cav had in the G6. I got 11 years of good service from that Cav. I'm sure your G6 will be reliable too. I just wish it was more desirable. Now why doesn't my Vibe feel like that? Good design.I'm not saying the Vibe is the greatest car in the wor........Oh wait yes I am! This car is freakin awesome!!! I can honestly say after three years with my Vibe there is no other car I want or that could suit my needs as well is this.I expected the G6 to wow me. You know, because this is the new GM under Bob Lutz the vehicle Guru. It just seemed lame to me.

Loose feeling front end was a common complaint. IIRC, it took GM until the 2006 model year to get it partially resolved. I still hear about ones with loose feeling front ends. And when they did get a fix, did they publish a TSB and apply it to previous model years? Typical GM: No.

I see what you are saying. No doubt the G6 hit the streets and people looked and stared. However give it a couple years and the design will be average and 'ho hum'. On that fact though, it is a mass produced car and for the money is not a bad ride. The Grand Am has been around since the 1980's G6 may follow and there are reasons why Grand Am stayed around that long. For what it was and enough people liked it. It was not state of the art but was transportation. My dad is leasing one...And as far as FWD feeling like the front end would fall off. My FWD's never got that way but if something needed to be fixed it was. However possibly what you are experiencing is one reason why Rear Wheel Drives are coming back! Many reasons for RWD but one is they do ride nicer!
Never having actually driven a G6, I can't comment on that, but out of that group, I would say the Century is the most boring. It feels like a Buick version of the '03 Malibu. *Yawn*

This is an interesting post because i beleive the same thing is true with the G6 and most GM cars now a days actually for the last 5-8 years its called pore quality and horrible designing plain and simple i wouldnt have a G6 if you gave me a truck load of them same for the malibus and impala's and it is true maintanceor not they all have that soft cushion bath tub ride and get worse as the time and wear goes on they just dont pocess the tight feel from the suspension to the handles to the way it starts i started an HHR to move it today at a dealership and it had 29 K on it and even the key was wobbly amounfg other things wrong with it. So theres a reason these cars are behind the foreigns and ford laying off people goes with out saying whats up there samething
