My best friend that I haven't seen in a while came and hung out with me this evening while my wife's at her mom's. He has a 03 GTI limited edition and I finnaly got to drive it. I just recently learned to drive a standard fairly well (over the last 3 months or so) I've never driven anything with a turbo before and needless to say you could've hit me in the face with a steel pipe and I'd still be smiling. We did some running around town so I never really got the rpms too high. I did manage to get on it pretty good on a back-road once (or twice ) He gave me a few tips on driving, too. Hopefully sometime soon I can drive it again. Practice makes perfect!

Well it sounds like you had a good time. I got to sit in one of those a couple years ago at the North American Auto Show in MI. Nice cars.

yeah, I'm anticcipating my next "lesson" He has an aftermarket muffler on it and it sounds sweet. I took a short ride in it a while back but I never noticed the sound of the turbo until I drove it.
