Looking at new tires and wheels - questions

Post by NewNeptune »

Since ruining one of my tires and not wanting to put on another junk RS-A plus buy another wheel cap, what do you think of these?http://www.tirerack.com/servle...ecial=With these tires?http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...=trueSo the question is, Tire Rack says that they'll work fine with my car, but will they? Will I have any vibration at highway speeds with new rims? I had an Altima that had rims and everyone I went to said that my vibration was due to the aftermarket rims that were added before I bought the car.I assume installation will be easy, since Tire Rack mounts and balances them. I just jack it up one wheel at a time, right?I am working within a budget here. These are pushing it.

lol, one more time! wheel link still broken. Find the make/model of the wheel then go to it's specific page and use that url to link. You can't link directly to a vehicle preview.

That's how I did it, and the second time I used the link they emailed me with the Send This Page to a Friend link. Doesn't matter anyway, I changed my mind. http://www.tirerack.com/wheels...n.jspI'm trying to decide between the E3 Bright Satin Sil Paint or the E3 Machine w/ Anthracite Accent. Which would look best?

Yep, it's decided, machined look. Now, will I have any vibration issues with that wheel? Tire Rack's data says:Size Selected: 16x7Price: $93 (each)Estimated Availability: In StockRecommended Tire Size: 205/55-16Wheel Offset: 38mm** Lightweight: 19.0 lbs. **Will it work?

Here's somethin about the offset issueQuote, originally posted by Stang2Vibe »The stock offset for the 16x6.5 wheels is +32mm. Most tire sites I visited were recommending replacement wheels of 16x7 with an offset of +35mm. I believe the tolerance for the offset is +/- 8mm variance from stock.that quote is from http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=4904another thing is the center bore. From what i've found (searching) the vibes is ~54.1mm so you need something real close to that(remember, I'm no expert on wheels) I hope this helps

If the center bore is wrong you can get hubcentric rings (adaptors) for about $12.00 a set. I did this for my Motegi rims. The offset is fine.
