Fidanza Flywheel

Post by Voltty »

hi 2 all,This is first post in this forum but i'm a long time reader.Probably i'm the only one that ownes a Toyota Voltz Z which is a Vibe GT but right hand drive.I'm about to change my clucth to an ACT kit with an Xtreme P/P and a street disc and i was wondering while i'm in the operation would it be worth it to change the Flywheel as well. From the research i've made the best Flywheel i have found is the Fidanza apart from the $$$$.I would like to know wheter anyone have 1 installed and if is worth the $$$ comparde to the power gain? All replies are appeciated. Thanks guy

I can't help you about the flywheel decision, but I had to say welcome to genvibe, that is a nice looking Voltz. Are there many Voltz's on Malta or is yours the only one?

Welcome to Genvibe! Nice looking car. I'd like to see another shot of the back lights. If I were you, I would definately get the flywheel. It will free up a lot of power and since the car will be taken apart anyways, it's the time to do it.

I was under the impression that due to the weight, in terms of the flywheel it was better to keep stock, if only because it IS heavier?I mean, yeah, the Fidanza will get spun up faster, but the stock will keep spinning better. Maybe? Dunno..thought I read that.

The stock flywheel, being heavier, will give more low RPM torque and is less likely to cause you to stall out at very low RPMs.Common practice for offroad vehicles with small engines is to add weight to the flywheel, lots of weight like 50 lbs to keep a low RPM idle without stalling. I'm able to climb straight up obstacles between 700-1200 RPM.

i dont have a gt or a fidanza but i do have another brand of lightened flywheel. you'll definitely notice the faster revs and other gains however you will stall out more. and since i hear that the 2zz clutch is more finicky it might be a learning experience. also you will fall out of lift during shifts quicker as well.you should check out http://www.newcelica.org also the gts have your same engine and tranny and plenty of those guys have findanza flywheels. also a few xrs owners on http://www.matrixowners.com may have the fidanza. if your only doing a 50 shot all you really need is a wet kit. direct port is for bigger shots unless you just like the look.i also have an act clutch cause i wasted the stock clutch with all the nitrous and drag launches and stuff. click the link below in my sig to check out my cardomain page. did those chrome tailight covers come with the car. i had to pay a rediculous amount of money to have mine pair shipped from a dealership in japan. i wonder if they still sell voltz stuff now that its been discontinued?

satur9Re Chrome taillight, it has came with it. What about the ACT clutch? What is your combination. HD R4 /XT SS?I'm looking for the Fidanza F W instead of other since it is the lightest in here we only race in Drag the peak revs i need more. Fidanza 7.5lbs vs MWR 10.5 and RPS 10lbs. I know that at first it's typically to stall but my tuner told me you'll get use to it.After i did some more research I think you are right about the nitrous i would probably go for wet kit. which kit do you have and what about the setting is it set to WOT?The attached pic is the winner of the last XLR8 show.
