Is it just me or are a lot of other companies starting to emulate the Vibe just a tad? I mean the Dodge caliber always reminded me of a vibe with an ugly Durango front clip, but now Suzuki is coming out with a "SX4" which at least from the front and back is all but a carbon copy of the Vibe.Suzuki SX4Dodge Caliber SRT-4 oops! I meant this one... Imitation may be the greatest form of flattery, but in automotive styling it's just plain annoying to me.

Chrystler admitted they took lines from the vibe to make the Caliber. The Suzuki does look like a Vibe in more ways than the Caliber (and that is one nasty photochop).

Suzuki SX4You guys do agree though that the front clip has some vibeness to it right? I highlighted the areas I thought they copied off the vibe... Most of the nose, the roof rack style, the type of door handles, and something they shouldn't have copied... the location of the antenna.

Its a very good carbon copy rip off of the Vibe. I'm surprised GM is allowing it. But then again GM dropped the axe on the awd Vibe and the Vibe GT... so maybe they don't care.

Hell, my Hyundai has the same door handles, only painted unlike what my Vibe had on it. It's hard to find a car these days that doesn't have this type of door handle, damn near everything does anymore. And the Vibe wasn't the first car to get 'em so GM/Toyota stole them from somebody else to begin with. You can only bend metal so many ways, folks. LOL! The auto makers pretty much have already used up every new idea that was out there years ago, so things are going to look similar. If they take bigger chances and perhaps find something to slap together that looks different, everyone's going to be *****ing that it's fugly and nobody will buy it. lol!I kinda like this thing! Various things I've read so far look promising. It may even be a bit rugged on the cheap, I've read that you'll have control over the operation of the 4x4 system, i.e. can leave it in 2WD mode, auto 4WD, or switch it to 4WD and leave it there... Unlike most systems you see on cars like this that automatically switch it around without your control. Better safety stuff standard than the Vibe and Matrix too, i.e. 6 air bags and ABS. If the price is right, this thing will be successful.Oh yeah, and if anyone missed it, it has the steering wheel and climate controls out of the Equinox/Torrent. Not surprising there since Suzuki is involved in the production of those. P.S. go here and check out the pics of the back end on the second page. Now the Toyota fans can sit around and complain about the back looking quite similar to a Matrix. http://www.netcarshow.com/suzuki/2007-sx4/

If they already know a design sells... it's less risky, I understand... but it'd be nice to see some genuine creativity. That and the whole "unique styling" comment laughable…

Colonel your right, you can only bend metal so many ways. I can't help think about the Mustang; it's still one of a kind, yes the Capri was a knock off and it was built on the falcon platform in 64', but for the the last 22 yrs it's been in it's own class. Even now the once stand alone Jaguar looks like a Ford Taurus. IMO Jm

LOL I was at the MI Henry Ford place back in aug and was reading all their "impressive ground breaking advances in tech" that inspired the Taurus... I don't know... 10 years later and I still think that car is a piece of crap.

Now in stock..Sorry for the crappy pics, but when I saw it, I figured I was obligated to take some... That lot has these fricken nuculur lights that were really pissing my camera off, it couldn't get focused worth a crap no matter what settings I tried to tweak. But anyway, blurry as they may be, I figured I'd could come here and post them so you vibe guys can whine about them ripping off your cars some more. (removed)! j/k folks.Seiously, seeing one up close, I personally think it doesn't look much like the Vibe at all... They had a 2-tone stealth vizzle out there on the lot used, they should have parked it next to that thing so we could compare, huh? Then, they had a used Caliber sitting out there, another "ripoff." And the HHR too. Man, that lot was ripoff city, wasn't it? Anyway, I kinda like that lil' Suzuki... Not enough to buy one, probably.
