I am looking for a way to fasten my amp to the floor. I installed it under the passenger seat, and it fits well there, but I would like to fasten it down so that it doesn't bounce or slide all over the place. I was thinking about putting some velcro on the underside so that it would better stick to the carpet, but I don't know if that will be secure enough. How can I, without drilling holes into the floor or ruining the carpet underneath, fasten the amp?Afterthought, I may very well cut out a piece of wood, wrap it in black carpeting then screw the amp down to that. The extra weight of the wood ought to hold it down, too. Thoughts?
I didn't use squares, but I bought some industrial strength 2 inch diameter velcro squares. I put the "hook" side on the amp and pressed the amp firmly to the carpet and it seems to have stuck very nicely! In fact, I am damned surprised. I think it will hold well so long as I don't take it off any sweet jumps.
Being used to more... global boards, the fact that you're able to readily point out the location Lowes or Home Depot is a bit unnerving. I had thought about that. It would even work well to get the amp off of the floor in case of leakage or a ton of snow making it into the cab on the bottom of people's shoes. If the velcro fails... or even if I get industrious for no reason at all, I may try that.BTW: I love how EASY it was to mount that amp into this car. I have never had it so easy before.
