The reason I ask is because I just relaced my old maf sensor cause it was shot and I'm getting cel's saying it's the maf sensor again. And every once in a while, ussualy when the car is hot, the car will bog a little from a stop. Just like what the old maf did.I went to the dealership I got the maf from ($60 @ Kolloso Toyota) and they wanted me to bring in the car so they can make sure that the maf is good and that it's not something else causing the maf to work incorrectly. $40 later everything checks out fine. They suggested maybe a different maf made to handle more airflow. I was thinking about that, too but I'm not sure if the GT's (XRS) are any different.Any ideas?

Have you tried just cleaning it. You are drawing in a lot of air with the S/C so it might be just really dirty. If you do make sure you spray up inside on the two little wires. That is what would need to be cleaned. The teardrop is only the AIT sensor and can be cleaned as well.If you have tried cleaning it and are still having problems, check out Ebay. I have bought several of them from LKQ in the past for $45 shipped.IMed you.

I hear that helps too....
They're the same and common to many Toyotas. Using a different one would need recalibration of your unichip and the stock one can more than handle the air flow anyway. The stock MAF still works fine in turbo apps in a GT so it's up to the task. Somebody makes a dedicated MAF cleaning spray and it needs to be done now and then with oiled filters. If you just cleaned your filter before this started, you have your culprit.
Vibe GT, TRD springs, Progress bar, STB, Unichip, Borbet E 16x7.5, 225/50 Bridgestone RE750, beefed up grounds and battery bypass capacitors(had em laying around)
The new MAF is only 2 weeks old and I last cleaned the air filter 3 months ago and it's still clean. You made an excellent point about the turboed apps. I didn't think about that, and your right.Another thing I noticed is that the car lags, and bogs more when the engine is hot. So I have to check into that. Might just be a product of heat soak? The CAI does get pretty warm to the touch even after driving 'normal' for a little bit.Other then that the car is loads of fun with the cooler temps coming on with the end of summer. Just gotta find that yellow cobalt ss s/c. I want a rematch.
