06 Frost break in oil change

Post by DrumDr »

Yo! I did it last weekend at 1000km! Jacked it up by the front passenger tire lift point.Easy to reach everything. Only got 1 paper towel dirty.Saw a few metal slivers in the oil, but I expected that.Didn't touch the filter though. Should I have changed it?Replaced it with SemiSynthetic, Castrol, I think...Nelson

Welcome to GenVibe. Buy a new filter, fill it with fresh oil and replace the old with the new. You might try lifting from the front crossmember next time, the pan will drain better since the plug is on the back and in the middle. The first oil change is probably the most important one in which to change the filter.

Yes you should have and should every time, change out the filter. It is messy but you HAVE to do it. I usually poke a hole in the filter letting it drain and then remove it. It helps but it still can be sloppy due to it is mounted vertically.Congrats though you are on the right track! Welcome to the site too!
