does anyone have a good, relatively cheap, way to give the car a load and agressive sound?

let me try this again (im new so bare with me). What is the best way to make the car loud and agressive. Also i need advice on muffler size and other things of that that sortany ideas?

how much would that run me? And also i looked at borla but didnt see a muffler that fit? did i miss it

for a good quality sound that is also loud, you're going to want more than just a muffler. with just a dynomax muffler, mine had a nice deep sound to it, but it wasn't loud.there are several catback exhaust systems available, they should be able to give you what you want.

i wish cat backs werent so expensive. A firned of mine has an 02 jetta and he put a (what looks like) pipe on the car that goes strait back and at the end has the circle fart can thing going. it sounds really good and gives off a little of that cool blue smoke. will something like that fit a vibe?

I don't think there is any way to make the exhaust of a It is my opinion that small displacement cars sound better with mellow exhausts. Otherwise, it just ends up sounding like your car is powered by a hive of pissed off hornets and you'll be dismayed at the sound of laughter coming from the car pulling ahead of you.

i agree, do not go with the fart can. not only will it sound like a fat guy farting into a soda can, it will more than likely wear out fast too.

lol!!! i guess your right. THe only problem is im on a really tight budget. What can be be done to make it sound good but cheaply?

you can get just a muffler and have it installed, but it will still cost you nearly $200 once it's said and done. you have to pay to play!

intake is cheap and easy. gives a nice rumble under the hood.short rams like 90-150 buckscold air intakes like 140-300Magna- 380 shippedborla- 280-300 (not sure)custom- about 300 +/-Headers- 250-ishhighflow cat- 50-60 + install.throttle boring- ??? (like 80-100)supercharger- around 2000 plus installturbo- 3995 at hass turbos

I would start on the engine side. Install an intake. Cosmo makes a CAI which can be found on e-bay for around $100. Nitrous is also not terribly expensive. You could probably pick up a dry shot system for under $500, but keep it mild unless you have some sweet pistons and rods installed.

If you wanted to so something else, you could have your muffler cut off and just install a resonating exhaust tip. I installed a Hooker resonating exhaust tip on my Saturn SC2 and when that sucker was at idle it sounded SWEET but when I was at stoplights I would often get laughed at by dudes in muscle cars and ricemobiles.... until the light turned green and I left them choking on smoke and humility.

A resonating exhaust tip isn't really a muffler. It is designed to go over an already muffled exhaust to add a different note to the sound of that exhaust. Their worst form (IMHO) are the giant coffee-can watermelon shooters we all know and despise.In their best form they are 2-3 inches around, long, and baffled in such a way that improves the mellow tune of the exhaust.

Depending on the design, absolutely. I would reccommend something 6-10 inches long and about 3 inches in diameter as the longer and wider it is, the lower and more mellow the sound. Why dont you just make your own off of Jegs.com ... assuming that is if you know how to weld. I got my whole system for my cavalier minus the header for less than 200 bucks. With the header ... less than 400.Its 2 1/4" all the way, high flow cat, magnaflow muffler w/ a pacesetter header.dan

Also, I forgot to add, you should be able to find resoniators (spelling) at your local auto parts store. You will also need couplers so you can make good welds. Also, it probably would be even cheaper to go to a muffler shop and have them make an exhaust system for you.What kinda bends does the Vibe need??dan
