gts!!! i was flipping threw my new issue of sport compact car and i came across a ad for alt wheels and thier project celica. im like who snuck this one under my nose. so i did a little reaserch.it turn out its the xs engineering kit.old news, but i didnt remember the numbers being that high.it turn out its estimated FLYWHEEL hp with testpipe.dyno'd at 234hp its almost exactly the same as sport compact cars project matrix xrs. yeah the one with bigger fuel pump 500cc injectors and tec2 engine management.yet thier car still broke. alt wheels is supposedly getting away with fifth injector setups(tentative to change)(i wonder WHY???hehehe)both setups are run off stock internals and are awesome rides.till they break!!!at 5,000 dollars it still seems as if blitzs supercharger is still a better bet if a litte more money and a lot less horsepower 189whp but a lot more torque than stock(close to the turbos torque).why am i posting this why do i care? because im bored and i thought it might be interesting.it seem like you cant get mad hp cheap in a 2zz-ge. except nitrous.so come join me in the nitrous revolution..lol.on a related note sport compact car did a rsx comparison test were the nitrous car (75 shot) beat the turbo car(greddy kit).in any case forged internals keeps rods in the blocks were they belong. now enough of the nfo i got a question? anyone have ANY info on block strengthening? seeing as how they dont make stuff for our cars, mabey machining a honda cylinder brace to fit? how do you sleeve an open deck block? im not going for crazy hp im just paranoid. im planning on keeping my nitrous kit(which im STILL waiting for!!sigh!!) on top the supercharger. no more than 250 hp . but if your cylinder walls flex cause your forged rods didnt break you still need a new block! or am i wrong in that last statement. in any event if you dont know, if youre one of our elite forced inducted brethren. give us an update of how your cars are running?rant..rant...rant...
look my sniggies, i had a strizz-oke in my brizz-ain okay, you know what im saying. so i cant move all good. but thanks for mentioning that .thank you very much.athf4evr. click here! you know you want to!!!
i found a great site that answered my question aboved and had tons of other great info.check out overboost.com ,you wont be dissappointed !!!

hey satur9, Didn't andrew MVA say that they were going to do something to strengthen the block of their spyder car???also, robert the great , on spyderchat put 280 to the wheels on his mr2, but all the info of the things he did to his motor were lost when spyderchat crashed about a month ago...the archive forums are not accessable anymore .... most of this stuff is beyond my ownself,...oil stravation has been named more than once, as the culprit of blown engines amongst the f/i 1zz owners..usually a thrown rod / failed rod bearing....I only know that the lust for mor hp can be insaciable....I am fighting hard against my own malcontent ....but if your are going to spend a lot of $ to build up your internals...and then only run conservative...why not risk the stock internals and spent the same $ on salvage motors .... if you indeed lose ... or save the extra $ ....you undoubtably be tempted to go for the big 300hp if you build your motor.....its only human nature

andrew hasnt been around lately. we had some questions about rod bearings nd stuff that hasent been answered, rember? i tried spyderchat and other mr2 forums but found nothing really usefull. overboost.com had a nice write up about resleeving where they took out the aluminum sleeves and pressed in iron ones. tech info states that our sleeves are already iron(although they might be rather thin) anyway . since the block will be opened up for the rods im just seeing how feasible it would be to do everything at once. a new block may be cheaper but finding qualified mechanics to install and then strengthen the new block raises the price signifigantly. i think if i find someone to machine or make a cylnder brace that would be okay since theyre only like a 100 bucks or so.resleeving is way expensive, so i might just take your advice on that one and wait and see? sow hows your car running! would a baffeled oil pan or oil catch tank work?

My car is not running, ther is an oil leak in the system.....dont know where.... my retrun oil line runs to the oil pan.. the fitting is high on the pan to reduce any pressure ... Oil leaving the turbo gets frothy and whipped up...its weird.. but the line to the pan needs to be big for an easy flow.....about the 2zz... my turbo guy said that motors with a wider bore and a shorter stroke can detonate easier...which the 2zz falls into that category...along with its higher compression!!...It is a tough one to f/i...the xs engineering kit has an IC 24"x11" ...it is huge! but it is that kind of air cooling you need to do with this motor..even the blitZ SC kit has an IC.....My turbo guy says that it is only inevitable that he will eventually do a 2zz motor....I know he has done another 1zz matrix and is doing a celica gt right now..

that sucks about your car not running? do you have a turbo timer ,or at least let it idle for a minute after driving. if not the turbo could have coked and cracked the bearings causing you to lose oil if you dont have smoke your not burning it.. where is the turbo oil supply coming from? lets just hope you didnt lose you oil pump gear drive. some hard driving subarus break theirs rather easily! good luck finding the problem(hope its cheap and easy to fix)i think that frothy thing is normal ,thats why they say mount the fitting high as possible. buy the way was it running stock oil? our stock oil is lightweight mabey heavier oil froths less.

A $4000 Sub-zero designer fridge would be out of place in your standard double-wide. Heck - the floor might not even support it! And so it is with cars (in my opine) There is a limit to some mods where it might be more practical, cost effective, and satisfying to trade up to a more powerful car where everything else - tranny, suspension, frame, etc. would be in balance.
