Hello Vibe Veterans,I just purchased my new 2006 Vibe last week and it's really growing on me. It already gets 32 m.p.g. with about 90% highway duty. My Vibe is the base model with 5 speed. It's red with the gray trim. I have a 50 mile commute and I wanted a car that got good milage and had enough room for my two German Shepherds. The Vibe fits the bill perfectly. I'm looking forward to making modifications in the future.I'm very impressed with genvibe. I've been reading the forums for a few days now, and everybody seems very friendly and respectful. I never new the Vibe had such a large following. I'm glad to be part of this unique group of people. K9

HEY! thats a sharp looking vibe there. Well your getting pretty good gas milage for a 5-speed. maybe a intake is in your mod list... if your not too pedal happy it can help your mileage more.Im getting about 34 +/- MPG but its 80% freeway and i get a tiny bit pedal happy sometimes. So all in all im happy.Welcome to the family

Welcome to GenVibe! 32MPG is not bad for starting out. It will get better after you put a few thousand miles on it. you will probably see averages around 34-36mpg once it is fully broken in.We love pics! There is also a pet picture thread somewhere on GenVibe. So post your German Shepards too! They are beautiful dogs. Here's the pet pic link: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=2767

Welcome to GenVibe!BlueCrush is correct; after the breakin period, you should see an improvement in gas mileage.Oh, and in addition to the pets thread, here's another one regarding where they sit in your Vibe! http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=23037
I'm not in the military, but I do contract work for the Navy. I think half the people that live in this area are connected to the military in some form. I grew up in Pittsburgh. Yes that makes me a STEELER fan, but don't hold that against me.Thanks for the pet link Crush, I'll have to post my dogs. You guys and gals have some sweet looking cars. They're all pretty tastefully done. It's good to see some girls fixing up cars, too. Makes the hobby that much better. Thanks for welcoming me! K9
