love our new vibe 2 days old - Wisconsin - traction question?

Post by avid-vibe »

Wow, we just love our new base level vibe...just 2 days old. One question we were told by our dealer we had 'traction' control as we have the ABS package..... also we were told all new pontiacs have 'Stabilitrack' ..... No traction or stabilitrack warning lights come on when we first start the car.....any ideas? do we have these features or not?Simon and Mary - Wisconsin

Welcome to GenVibe!(edit) Stabilitrack is a separate optional package from ABS ($495 and only with automatic trans). There should be a button below the controls for the side mirrors that will activate/deactivate the Stabilitrack control. Look next to the small coin holder for this switch (looks like a car skidding). If it's there, you have Stabilitrack. Also, you should see a small light with the letters "VSC" in the temperature gauge when you start the car.See your owners manual for more info (Click this links for owners manuals: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=1010 )And...on a completely different note..You're from Wisconsin Rapids! My wife's family is from Nekoosa and Biron, so we're practically neighbors!

ZubenElGenubi,Hi from Wisconsin Rapids, home of paper....I'll say hi to Biron and Nekoosa for you. Thanks for your answer, you confirmed my thoughts that we don't have the 'stabilitrack' system......the only button we have to the left of the steering wheel is a tire presure monitor re-set button.....shame on our dealer !!!

Hey...as long as you didn't pay for Stabilitrack. It's almost $500 more.

And another special welcome from a fellow wisconsinite. It appears that your vibe does not have the features claimed by the dealer. I was let down by the cruise option they said they could get me and i was willing to pay for but they couldn't. So i went down the street to the stereo shop that put in aftermarket cruise with no problems.Anyway welcome again to our site fellow CheeseHead!

Welcome and congrats on the new Vibe! No, "all new Pontiacs" do NOT have Stabilitrack as a standard feature. But glad to hear you love your Vibe!

Hey fellow cheesehead vibe owner, welcome!Tell your dealer to read the manuals of the high priced items he's selling. And that his ignorance is now posted for all the world to point and laugh at him.Now for all the lies - he owes you a vibe WITH stabilitrack - no charge. (you might just get it!)
