Sony CDXGT400

Post by shane_c »

I'm looking to get a new HU and am looking at this one. I want one that is a good price, that I can use for Sirius radio, that matches pretty close to the factory dash lights (red&white) and that is of good quality. Does anyone have this HU? Opinions?http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/...21981

Never mind. I have decided that the SIR-GM1 is the way to go because it's a cheaper option.

Read the posts on the SIR-GM1. It seems that no one can get it to work in a Vibe.

I've only seen one post on this. Have there been others with problems as well?

I've seen a couple posts regarding what seems to be the incompatibility of the Sirius unit with the Vibe OEM headunit. Because the Vibe is the oddball without Class II bus, I haven't heard of anyone who's gotten it to work. Figures, I would love to have it, but when I called Crutchfield, it was suggested to me that I buy it and return it if it didn't work. I'll live with my plug & play Sirius unit in the console and my radio dial always on 88.5.If you do decide to try it, and you get it to work, please let us know.

Well, I've decided against going this route because if people are having trouble with it then I won't even bother and it's not yet available for sale in Canada with no release date announced. I can still order it from the US and activate it through Sirius Canada but Crutchfield won't send to Canada and a few other places I checked won't either. So I think it will be best to go with an aftermarket HU and Sirius tuner.

I'll eventually do the same. Sucks that the quick $99 integration won't work for Vibes.
