I was cruising through dealerships today and noticed a cobalt with a pontiac front, looks awsome but to my surprise it is the new G5. It is a cobalt in disguise. I like it. There is some info in it at http://www.pontiac.com/g5/index.jsp. It is the G5 pursuit in canada and it is the G5 here.

yea this G5 looks much better than the Cobalt but still if they brought a super charged version of the G5 id trade the vibe and get that beauty but as we all know it aint gonna happen.
it must have the 2.4 ecotec then? if no SC. the 2.4 is pretty quick but i like it, i think the front end sorta looks better than the balt but the SC balt is the bomb!
Would the SC for the Cobalt not just mount up to it? It's the same engine. Being able to just buy one already Supercharged would be nice tho..... *hint hint Pontiac*
i would take the cobalt SS over that... sorry but the looks of the chevy are way better then the pontiac.Ive seen the SS's in person and man.... just blown away at how they look.... yeah not super fast. but close.

the SC wouldnt just bolt up, the SC cobalt is a 2.0 ecotec while the only engines used in the G5 are 2.2 and 2.4. Im sure with an aftermarket ecu and tune you could but it might be a lot of work.

I just hate the fact that chevy has three...yes THREE cobalt SS 's. this confuses the hell out of people that dont know there is a SS SC, SS 4 door (2.4) and a SS coupe (2.4). I think they should only call the SC an SS and the other ones like ls's or something. My friend is supposidly buying a SS SC balt once his gf gets her job. So hopefully in a month or so...i went to a couple cobalt meets and wow those things can throw some power down! that SC whine is freakin awesome and the ecotec is a really strong engine.
I agree, that ecotec is an excellent engine and the Cobalt is giving alot of people a run for their money. They are so under rated. They dyno at 210-215whp stock (S/C'd version) and there are a few pushing 400+whp out of them now and doing some outstanding track runs.

It's really sad Pontiac doesn't have an SC version of the G5. All the hard work is already done. The SC/engine, trans, breaks, syspention are already on the parts shelf.Even the name is easy to pick "Pontiac G5 GTP"

It's not a question of why it's a question of why not?

this G5 is horrible....ugly as sinTHE ONLY PEOPLE WHO WILL BE BUYINGthis clone are people who would be buyingCobalts or Ion coupes...GM thinks they got "another' entry in the smallcoupe market....but really they just have anothercar to distract would-be GM buyers anywaythis is why GM gets disrespected like they do**** like this illustrates it!PONTIAC doesnt need a Cobalt
wow they figured out how to make an engine out of nothing but plastic. that must really cut down on weight man that grille looks really cheap they could have at least molded it in or something...
