Matrix Console Vs. Vibe Console

For the 05/06, does anyone know if there is a difference in the center console. I think the matrix still has the 12V in the console, but as far as the dimensions, are they the same?I seem to recall someone telling me that the matrix one is a little taller?Thanx

They are the same. The 05/06 Matrix still has the higher lid with storage tray in it - this was also in 03/04 Vibes & Matrixes. However, GM decided to change to a lower, simpler lid without the storage tray starting in 05 Vibes. The lids are interchangeable, however,

You'll need to get a new tray & lid combo, and replace your existing lid. I have an 05 and the cheapest double lid I could find was $70. I ended up buying an entire console from a wrecked 03 at a salvage yard for $29. I Just swapped the lids and installed the cigarette lighter plug into my 05. I got the lid and a bonus 12 volt plug all for $29. The taller lid makes for a good arm rest and the extra storage is nice.Good luck with your search! David
