hmm thats weird..the Detroit Free Press had a front page story last week i think saying the new Camaro would come for the 2008 model year, not 2009. Or maybe that's just for us lucky folks who live in and around the motor city either way, I agree it may be too little too late, but it's still gonna be sweet!

As usual, GM hits the showroom 3~4 yrs AFTER it's rivals have already sodded the market. yeah even though they say in the article the camaro will have a price point appealing to first time car buyers....how can you beat the price of a mustang. especially with all that's going into the camaro

There's going to be three engines available in the new camaro, a v6 and two v8s and according to last week's article the v6 will start at under 25k. Although, I just looked it up on the Detroit Free Press' website and there's an article saying it will in fact debut for the '09 model year and there will be one v6 and one v8..? How the facts can change so much from one week to the next beats the heck outta me Free Press article: http://freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll...10015
there are enough camaro people that it should sell fine, unless GM screws up the car some how...... But the way gas prices are hopefully they use the new engine with shutting off some cylinders when its not needed to save on some gas.
that would be very interesting to see. doesn't the magnum or something have that eninge? i think i heard that was a big selling point for buyers who wanted the big power but good mpg too. to a point

I think some of GM's trucks/SUVs have EMS and the Grand Prix GXP has DOD (displacement on demand) but it still only craps out like 26 mpg i think. And yes, the Camaro is scheduled to be equipped with EMS on at least one of the V8s, not sure about both..kinda like the Charger R/T has it but the SRT8 doesnt.
yeah all of those vechicals have it! My buddy is all hard core about the new carmaro he reads up on it every chance he gets to see if there are any changes and from what he tells me theres going to be the V6, and 2 V8's which is the basic V8 and the SS V8 but i heard its not going to be called SS i dont know if its true but this is comming from the same friend ummmm what else i know the regular V8 is going to have the 5.7L and the upgraded one im not too sure on that one maybe tweeked alittle or even a bigger engine like they did with the Corvette. and like always theres going to be the convertable and regular hard top and i think not to sure but i think even T-top not to sure correct me if im wrong but we will have to see what happens in the futere things change you know??? i remember when they showed the first one back in 2003 i think it looked pretty sweet it was orange (removed) it looked awesome

7% maybe that will change if BP doesn't get their freakin alaskan oil plant working soon. well regardless, it does seem like gm is jumpin on the band wagon a little late. i do think the retro muscle car designs look suweet. we'll see what happens
