Just make sure the clutch is still in good condition. There have been reports of the clutch lasting 30-40k on GTs.

My parents got me an '03 GT with about 38,000 miles on it. We got it for just under $11,000 from an individual seller, and we thought it was a steal.

the 03 GT was a great car. definitely check out the clutch. they went pretty soon. i traded mine in with 32K miles and the clutch was starting to go. overall, the car was great, no real mechanical problems that i didn't cause myself. oh ya, check the fog lights and also all the front and lower grills/fascia to make sure they are good too. I crashed mine when i did a little ditch dive one winter and never had it fixed. so of course, it'd not have been in car fax either. but it was $1100 to fix it! and i'd not pay more than $11K for the car. otherwise, if you can spend the extra $$ go with new. with the 0% financing, you may only end up paying a few more dollars a month and have a full warranty!

well, if you have to pay another $1100 for fixing it and chances are if it's a GT, you will have to pay for a lot of wear and tear... oh ya, forgot to mention the brakes also needed to be replaced.and you can get a new GT or even a GM certified 04 or newer GT for just a little more might be well worth it. just saying, i know a lot of the GT owners have beat their car to hell. that's why we bought a GT vs a base or awd. just be careful you're not getting yourself into a money pit. yes, as CP has proved, toyota's can make lemons too.

If your going to go used, which is what I did and I'm very happy with what I did, and you think this is the car for you. Spend the 75 bucks that I did and have a independent mechanic go over it. They will find and check things that none of us would think about but they have to deal with everyday. Money well spent if you think this is the car. And if the person selling isn't willing to let it out of their sites for a few hours then you'll know something is up and just walk away.
