I had an interesting situation with my vibe the first 10 miles away from the dealership, my 6sp manual shifter became un-attached.. Yes, when I pulled away that Sat. night, I became stuck with 3rd and 4th gears and that is all.. After having it towed back to the dealer that next Mon. morn. (this was the 2nd vibe off their lot), the service center discovered that the 1 out of the 2 wires connecting the shifter to the clutch fell from the shifter. It was reattached and reinforced.... Now getting back to the recall, I was notified about this during this fiasco and the guys checked the bolts, and mine were at regulation tightness. This all occured around Mid March. Sorry for the drawn out story...
wheeee....

Are we suppose to be getting some sort of notification from GM as to which Vibes were affected or do we call?

This recall is pretty well done, the recall was issued quickly and most of the cars where checked before being delivered to their customers. Of all the Vibes we have had though our shop only one was involved in the campaign and it checked ok when it was checked. If you are interested about your car is involved, you can have your dealers service department check on their computer and see if your vin number shows if it's involved and if completed. Pontiac Customer Assistance should be able to provide this information also.
