Little background on my Vibe first:2006, base, Moonstone, K&N air intake (with slight modification)Now to my questionI know it came out almost 3 years ago and is probably old news, but does anyone have the 170 HP Supercharger Kit from GM Performance Parts? If so what year and how does it sound? Unfortunately, it looks as though it is only for the 2003-2004, does anyone have it in the 2006?

Yes, you can install it with the adaptor plate and a piggyback ECU. Your intake, a header ,and free flowing exhaust will net you 170hp to the wheels. Otherwise, with just your intake and s/c you might makd 170hp to the crank. Here's about how mine sounds. [Just ignore the little check engine light ]http://media.putfile.com/quicky-teaser

DUDE (removed)!!! thats sounds flippin sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now its like a must for me to get it when I get back from Houston YAY thats im speechless to how cool that sounds lol
Hehehe! Thank's man. It's MUCH louder in person. Louder than my exhaust! It's almost embarassing. But then I feel the little kick in my (removed) and snicker.I gotta make another clip showing off the new tranny. Thing shifts FAST!! Only a fraction of a second between shifts!

Sweet all I have to say is AWESOME, and I bet that S/C sounds even louder in person. Let us know when you make a video with you shifting I have to see that good luck!!
Ha, ha, ha! Raam's turbo kit is still for sale I think! ONLY $2000!!! Alot cheaper then my whole set up and a little more power. PLUSE it's upgradable for even more power!

DUDE but even though the turbos blow off valve sounds awesome I still love the sound that S/C make when you take off and floor it. IT SOUNDS SWEET !!! Well if it was up too me I think I would get the Turbo but after this video just to hear that sound I think ppl would trip out like crazy man
Yeah, I always get the (removed) look when I go into boost passing somebody or racing. There's a guy with a Cobra in town that always revs his s/c at me when he see's me. I raced his buddy in a GA GTP from a roll and held him off for almost a 1/4 mile. I guess he was impressed.'This one time, while racing,' I think it was a Hyundai (not sure exactly what kind cause of all the body work) I was way ahead coming up to a light where these 3 bikers were waiting for the green light. Just as I come up to them the light turns green and I floor it and scare the ****aky out of them. One guy almost fell over! They ended up chasing me down and riding next to me wanting to race me (like I'm stupid enough to race a R1, Gixer, and a 'Busa) and talking crap about my car. But the look on their faces was priceless!.

Thats so freakin awesome I want that kind of reaction man its just priceless when you see a car like ours just speed off and you hear a blow of valve or the s/c its awesome.Quote, originally posted by Mrizzle05 »i want BOOST!!! *sigh... whiping tears*I would love it also
Turbos may have potential for more power but the sound of a supercharger in my opinion is much more incredible. Besides, EVERYONE and their cousin has a turbo charged car now-a-days...superchargers are extremely rare with the exception of Cobras and Grand Prixs but I would hardly count the GTP.
yeah i know what you mean but yes the Super charger sound is awesome way much cooler then hearing a blow off valve cause everyone does have a turbo now a days even old ppl lol (not calling you guys old) lol
I just picked up my '06 Vibe yesterday, after reading about the factory supercharger. The dealer didn't know much about it, but I gave him a Mr. Goodwrench part # and told me he could order it for $2995.00 but wasn't sure about the labor. Ya see, if you install it yourself, you only get a 1-year warranty. If you let the dealer install it, you get 36 months/36,000 miles.Anyway, I decided I would have my local Pontiac dealer install it and called them today. The Service Department told me that he couldn't be sure that part was available for that car and that they couldn't install it. Naturally, I was pissed, so I contacted Mr. Goodwrench and inquired about it. They say they will respond to my inquiry within 2 days.Frankly, I think this is bull****. Every auto magazine and blog that has reviewed the '05 and '06 Vibe - Every freakin article you read about it closes by saying that they have this optional supercharger.I await their response, but it would probably help if everyone with an '05 or an '06 Vibe that's interested in this modification go to the Mr. Goodwrench site, click on the "contact us" button and ask the same question. The engine hasn't changed since they brought the part out and some of the articles I read even said that they altered the hood/engine compartment to better accomodate the unit.Just for the record, the Mr. Goodwrench part number I found is 12498927 for the automatic and 12499105 for the 5-speedThis is a good car with or w/o the supercharger, but they ought to make good on their claims. Anybody else in?

You won't be able to get Goodwrench to install it because the supercharger has to be modified to fit the 06, but it can go in. I wanted one too but it just too much bother.

Thanks gang. I suppose I will wait it out until the product comes to me. If others want it bad enough it will. I just hate getting jerked off by corporate amerika.
HA! Dealers are oblivious to performance modifications. I went to my dealer, one of the biggest in detroit area and asked about a supercharger for the Vibe last year. The answer I got was "I don't think they have a supercahrger for hte VIbe"...I was stunned, especially since I saw them on the two concept Vibes at the MI superrally. You're better off going to the Toyota dealership and getting any info. from them. I went to the Pontiac dealer again a couple months ago to get a quote and they, for one had to check if there was one for a Vibe. Then they quoted $3200 with tax...DONT FORGET TAX. I went to the Toyota dealership next door and told them about it and they were surprised I knew that the matrix and vibe were the same and they were actually excited that I was interested in one. The told me all kinds of information and explained to me that they might be able to train the GM ECU to work with the TRD supercharger and all this stuff. Some random mechanic saw the computer and jumped in on the discussion. I bet 20 bucks the people at the Pontiac dealer don't even know the Matrix and Vibe have the same engines!!!!!!!!! They are allways just bullsh*ting about customers that come in and phone calls.
yeah they are!!! i hate it when sales ppl do not know there crap man they are selling the product and all they know is how to turn it on and show yo uthe insides they dont know about any mods or upgrades or even years on which they make or stop making a certain car... ex... I went to the one here where i live and there was an 02-03 pontiac Grand am GT my friend wanted it but it said it was an 06 I was like (removed)! so just to mess with the guy i aske dhim what year is thsi car??? and he told me "uuummmm dduuuuu ummmm its an 06 it says rigth there" (removed)!! i couldnt stop laughing and then i went up to him and i said " did you know they stoped making Grand Am's a few years back??" hahah he craped in his pants and walked away he felt like a dumb @$$ lol it was awesome.
That does sound sweet and makes me dearly miss my 00 GTP. Had a GTP for past 5 years and only sold it because of the amount of miles i drive. Oh and Merzbow i wouldn't underestimate those cars. my 2000 and many others are low into the 13's without extensive modifications.

DBW is perhaps the worst thing about the Vibe that irks me. Bypass possible, or would the ECM flip out? AKA, route a for-real throttle cable between the pedal and a cable-driven throttle body.

You would need to get the S/C TB adaptor plate from the guys on http://www.9thgencorolla.com that made it and also use an e-manage to control the engine to run it. There is a how-to on 9thgen for installing a S/C on a '05+ DBW 1ZZ-FE engine.

ok you guys know what you're doing! wow...I'm new to the site, but i've had my vibe since May '06. it's a base '06 and it could use more power. i'm going to college so i can't really afford anything right now, but i know i want to build it up once i graduate and the warranty expires. i'm thinking the trd supercharger, 18"s, magnaflow... anybody know what the piggyback ecu stuff goes for?...i was quoted $2300 for the supercharger from gm, but i know the trd one is cheaper. whats the best power i can get for the money?thanks.
welcome! I'm surprised GM quoted you b/c the kit isn't for an '06. It's only for the 03-04s. You'll need an adapter plate for it to mate to the intake manifold and I don't think you'll get the year warranty having it installed that way... but that is a good quote from a dealer considering that kit cost over $3k normally from GM. You can sometimes find trd kits for as low as $1500. Good luck with whatever you decide
I probably should have specified that the dealer quoted me an employee discount price, because my father works in the service dept. He was assuming it would fit all vibes...he didn't tell me i'd need an adapter plate, which is good to know haha. he doesn't want me to mod it but once the warranty expires i might just as well.yeah i saw a trd kit on ebay for like $1700 but i really don't have the cash yet. thanks for the info about the adapter plate. thanks
