Must resist.... V... Tec.... Temptation... to strong... "WARNING: Genvibe is a very addictive website... constant use can result in car modification and a lowering of your bank account. use with extreme caution!http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2298639
Get some, there's nothing worse than taking a hard turn and having to hold yourself up, AND there is nothing BETTER than seeing that beautiful SPARCO emblem through your windshield These are the Sparco Speeds, just fyi. Got them for an unbeleivable price, which i will not post because you will not beleive.
I bet those seats feel like a million bucks! They look amazing too. However, the seat brackets in our Vibe are abit unusual, and u may have to get some custom built somewhere. At least that was what I was told when I looked into racing seats a while back.
some matrices have them, so it is possible. My friend that i got them from told me that it should be Very easy for a fabricator to make custom brackets for our cars, because they have a high position, allowing for more options when fabbing the stuff up, or something like that (i dont know, i wasnt really listening, because i was thinking about driving with those seats in the car )
ALL I have to say is IT's ABOUT DARN TIME!!!I've wanted new seats and keep forgetting about it and then loosing all my money but it's about time someone got a set of racing seats!!!!! I want to see pics ASAP no excuses (removed). Just kidding, don't rush, you'll miss something important. If all else fails though, just bolt ona swivel base and you got a hardcore office chair.
Quote, originally posted by trdvibe »ok, so did you get one or 2 seats??Given that one of the pictures is captioned, "And it's dubious partner,"...I'd say two.
the anticipation of having these seats in my car is KILLING me. Ive been talking with a plethora of my car friends to see what my options are, and some are saying custom fab them, and others (friends that own motorsport shops) are saying to purchase the parts i need from them. imagine that. Currently, when i drive i just imagine what it will be like to take one of my usual sharp turns in a Sparco "holding monster" (bride tm). this makes me very tempted to just go ahead and order the sparco made brackets and whatnot from my performance shop buddies, but then i think about the price difference between sparco-made and custom-fabbed, and i continue to check around for a good fabricator. *note to tightwads* If you want racing seats, anticipate an additional $200-400 tacked on to the price of what you paid for the seats. Good things arent cheap Tint, sways, and coilovers are next on the list. (maybe a OEM style carbon fiber hood also, only 300-400 Big ones )
*crap. the communities turning on me Yes, sorry for the delay, BUT thanks to the vibe not being a very popular tuner/sports car, it is somewhat of a challenge to get this all to work flawlessly (somewhat of a perfectionist) First delay:Thanks to the good ole stock seats, custom fabbed mounts/brackets are out of the question, too expensive for a custom job. Soooo i ordered the sparco made parts.Second delay:Did you know Sparco changed the way they embroider their name on to their seats? No?? i didnt either. Until i actually looked at my two seats side by side . Good thing i bought these from my friends that own a motorsport shop, so i am well taken care of .Third delay:Just found out today from Brad aka Petertracks from MO.com. That i need another part to equip my vibe with these seats, no biggie.....just more money out of my pocket. But, like i said, new seats aint cheap. The good thing is that Brad is a good guy from what i can tell AND he does hook you up somewhat, highly recommend him to ANYONE wanting some new parts for the vibe/matrix, seems like he can get pretty much anything Fourth delay:My friends at my somewhat "local" performance shop got in the replacement seat and it matches the one i am going to return, SO i gotta wait til monday or wednesday for the other seat to come in from KANSAS. (no extra cost to me ). But guaranteed by mon/wed ill have a matching set of sparcos and i should have some of the mounting and bracketry in by then...............hopefully Possible FIFTH delay:Also, did you know that toyota engineered the seat belt buckle thingy to attach to the stock seat? again, no?? yea, neither did i. SOOO most likely im gonna have to go with a................. FOUR POINT HARNESS!! WOOO!!! (and boooo at the same time, more money )But im gonna chat with some of the MOers that have racing seats and see what they did to remedy this More to come........................eventually .....
total so far:$640 seats$32 full tank of gas$300 for sparco brackets/slidersequals$972 POTENTIAL ADDITIONS:$200 for two sparco 4-point harnesses$? for other mounting partand maybe....$260 sparco steering wheel$170 steering wheel quick release UPDATE 9/10Good ole PortsmouthXRS from MO.com has saved me a couple hundred bucks by informing me that the sparco brackets allow the use of the stock seatbelts (ill get the harnesses later, though )
wedge engineering makes seat brackets for vibe/matrixes. a few matrixowners have them. but they sit lower than stock i hear.
look my sniggies, i had a strizz-oke in my brizz-ain okay, you know what im saying. so i cant move all good. but thanks for mentioning that .thank you very much.athf4evr. click here! you know you want to!!!
