wimpy door seals?

Post by red »

when i bought my vibe, they had to replace the driver's door seal 'cause it "stretched" and wouldn't conform to the door anymore....i've been checking the other doors and have noticed that the seals are actually kinda thin and in some cases not secured to the door at all...maybe some of the road noise that is heard is contributed to by these thin seals

I had my driver's side door seal replaced under warranty, it was too large and didn't seal at the front . that was some 20,000 miles ago and no further trouble since...

i guess i'm used to thicker strips of rubber around the doors and openings on my previous vehicles than on this one.

i'm not sure if you were talking about the seal around the windows or not, but im going to have to have the dealer fix the seal around my driverside window. The seal is coming off from the doorframe.
