Just because they are big in the U.S. and a few other countries, doesn't mean they can own the retail business all over the world. For those who love to hate Wal-Mart, the article below will make your day. It is a short article.http://today.reuters.com/stock...pc=66
i giggled when i read that. still doesn't stop me from going there for certain things but i try to avoid it as much as possible.

I shop there all the time for movies and household things. But I used to work there... I wouldn't wish it on a sick dog and I feel very sorry for anyone who can't find something better to do and have their 5 or higher years of employment badges...

I think its sad that people now a days like cheer when some company makes amissed step. Walmart, General Motors, Sears, Enron just to name a few. Thereare many people who just want to join in because it popular and fun to tear down Why do we feel such joy in hurting others? So Why is Walmart so BAD. Becausethey beat the competition? Because they pay above the minimum wage? Becausethey are largest employer in the US? Because the have helped to change theRetail business? Because the dont have a UNION. Because donate millions tocharity. Because provide millions of job to Americans. Because ......... I think wejust need something to ***** about and Walmart just so happens to be theCurrent Target. God help the next company.

(wish i could think of an example right now but it's 1am and i'm tired and ready for bed... )
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!
I'm from a small town and know how much a small town needs business to stay thriving and alive. I remember when wal-mart came to canada and opened up nearby... well you can pretty much imagine how business in a small town dropped to almost nothing. Why shop locally when you can drive 30 mins away and shop at a store with everything and buy for much less?So yes. I will laugh when I see wal-mart fail at something. Its my right as far as I'm concerned because with the lack of business no one was hiring when I needed a job so I ended up working at wal-mart. Talk about a rough place to work. Your better off in an assembly line with a number for a name.

We have three local hardware stores that will bend over backward to serve you. So we pay extra to keep the jobs and tax in our little town. The extra cost is worth the expertise and customer service. The big stores i.e. Lowes & Home Depot never have everything that you need, it takes alot of walking/searching and the employees are hit and miss as far as knowledge. Then there is the restocking of the shelves and closing of the one last isle you need to hike down while dodging the crazied forklift.
