I know I should look through my owners manual...but my headlights are always on (at least I think its my headlights) is that common with the Vibe?

Hey...thanks for the speedy reply!I'm seeing more and more people driving these cars around my town.I love how the back seats drop and I can store my artwork. Now I just have to get my new mountain bike!

OK, the headlights are my first peeve about the Vibe, they're always on. Tonight was the first time I drove it at night and it was weird to have the headlights come on without me doing anything...and not having a way to turn them off irritates me. What engineer sat around and thought this up? Was it an oversight not to provide a way to turn them off? How am I supposed to sneak home at night without being noticed?Who would ever think to ask if there's a way to turn the headlights off. One might ask "how do I turn the headlights on" not how do I turn them off. That's crazy.Anyway, it's not going to ruin my Vibe enjoyment, however it would have been nice to know that the headlights cannot be turned off when the car is running. Some kind of sticker or notice on the dash would have been nice. One other thing I found out - if a passenger takes off his/her seatbelt before the car is in park this horrible warning sound comes on. A high pitched ding ding ding ding ding. Kind of takes the fun away from pushing your passenger out of the car while moving and yelling "tuck & roll".

I've had many close call with people who "forget" to turn their lights on at night or in rainy or foggy weather. I think Canada made it manditory years ago on any vehicle sold there and the U.S. thought it was a good idea.

My problem is not with the lights coming on, it's with not being able to turn them off. I did a search and read some other threads on the issue. I'll see if apllying the parking brake works on the model I have. I really don't want to start messing with the wires.

Check your manual.(EDIT - didn't see your last post till after I posted this )

I personally like mine on all the time and get annoyed with people who drive around at those dusk hours and no lights. I can't trust people to remember to turn on their lights.
