I don't think reliability will be a major factor when comparing either vehicle because mechanically they are identical. However, here are a few threads that have already been discussed on the forum that may help you out about your questions:%Toyota and %Pontiac:

http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=539Are you concerned about the fact that you have a first generation Vibe?:
http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=510The Warranty and Maintenance forum may have alot of topics to your liking also:
http://forums.genvibe.com/zeroforum?id=17All in all, I think the choice will be your personal opinion on which design you like better, what options are available at the time you buy your vehicle (unless you order one), what you are willing to pay, and what incentives you can obtain.About resale value, the overall group belief about Vibe vs. Toyota resale value will have Toyota above the Vibe unfortunately. This fact being that you have a vehicle physically (appearance) associated with Toyota, people will have the first instinct to believe it is worth more. Even though the Vibe is identical to the Matrix, these beliefs will play a part in their resale values. However, it is too early to tell at this time for sure.
