My right A-pillar cover(right of the windshield) fell off the other day. There are 2 small white plastic nubbs that hold the cover into the body. The dealer ordered 88972500 plastic push pins. BUT this does NOT fit into the body of the car. Comparing the original and replacement nubb or pin. The ridge where it should lock in. Does NOT match up. It's way to far down to lock into the body. The cover has not fallen again. But this it likely just temporary till the next time. The dealer first said there was a 2nd #. But then after calling GM said, "NO" there's just one number for all Vibes. They ordered 4, 2 for each side of the windshield if needed. All 4 were the same wrong item. The dealer is being unhelpful now. Just saying take it in to the body shop. Body shop! It's just a push pin!! What are they going to do? Use super glue? Anyone know the proper part number ???

amazingly enough...I had a buzz over 4000rpm. That went away right after this happened. I have noticed the push pins barely engage the body. So double tape may just stand it off a bit and not allow the push pins to truly engage. But then again that depends where it is put. I may just use permatex silicone at the contact points. But I was hoping someone could give me the correct # so they could order replacement pins. ANd show the dealer he's wrong! ...Like I said, they said there were 2 part #'s. BUT the head parts guy had to check. He was out that day. When he was in, I got the negative reply. "there's only one part #". Right now I don't believe them. Maybe I will go to an parts store. Just another item on this wonderful new car I have to fix myself ...dealers are f*c%^ng putz's . I am no kid. I have been around a while,.....

Quote, originally posted by scherry2 »take the part off and go to the toyota dealer. they should have the right onesThen take the part and show the GM dealer... and call him an ***hole. He deserves it. When will dealers learn that they don't work if we go elsewhere?
Well before I got the gauge pod, the dealer for whatever reason when they replaced my radio, also scrweed around with the dash and left side A-pillar. upon further instruction, they changed out the top pin clip thing when it fell in my face once and the one they put on is about 1/2 inch longer then the original. It works great but it's still different...
the ones they rec'd from GM were 1/4" longer. BUT the notch where it locks to the hole in the body is too far down to lock in. I tried in both the top and lower points. If it falls again I'll get something. Or silicone it as I stated before. GM dealer service is lazy. They get $85/hr here for doing things half arsss. Out of the 10 or so times bringing my GM's in for service. Only 2 times did they NOT screw things up. They got me this time with their GM discounts and my GM card rebate. If I can afford something else this will be my last. Unless Toyota buys GM.....?
