Vibe - Current Pricing

Post by michiganguy »

Just in the middle of negotiating price on a new Vibe this week.I can get GM Friends and Family pricing, and GM is offering a total of $2,000 in rebates.Has anyone found it possible to negotiate more from the dealer than the above price reducitons? Thanks for any experiences you may have had.MSRP 20,735Fr and Family price - 19,696 - 2,000 in rebates

Ask the dealer about the conquest discount. Given for going from a Non-Gm vehicles to a GM vehicle. Usually $500.

With friends and family pricing (probably $1,000 off plus) and $2,000 in rebates I think you are doing well. [Too bad you don't have some GM Card earnings.] Also - my recollection is that the 2006 pricing was significantly reduced compared to 2005 - almost rolled back to what the prices were in 2003. So quit whining and write the check!

Not a bad deal, but it is getting closer to the end of the month. Are you trading something on the Vibe, or just buying it outright? I attached the Edmunds rundown of the car with your options. I'd offer invoice for it, less the rebates. The dealer still gets the holdback on it, and gets one more soon-to-be-a-year-old car off his lot.Good luck. Difference between Edmunds invoice and Friends & Family is $315. The Edmunds number does not include the adv. fee that is on the dealer's invoice. That is probably more like $400 than $315 so dealer is perhaps $85 under his invoice now - unless GM kicks in somethign to the friends and family deal. Anyone here from GM know if they do?Holdback is 3% of msrp not incl. dest. so that is $605. Salesman commission $200 to $300 I suppose.Doesn't hurt to ask but don't get your hopes up. Please report back how you did.

Maybe they would be more inclined to throw in 10 oil changes.

hey, by the way....do the 2006 Vibes include the rear mat? I noticed the 4 models at this dealer all had the rear deck mat in them, and it was not priced as an option. The salesperson had no idea!

When I bought mine last year, during the employee discount pricing, they gave me rebates, but wouldn't go down hardly anymore, but I wasn't complaining because I was getting a $20K car for under $15,700. Not a bad idea to see if they will through in a few free oil changes, can't hurt to try.

Isn't the rear mat standard equipment? It matches the floor mats.

The 16" aluminum wheels are junk on these. Only painted on the outside for the public to see. They claim , they are clear coated on the non-color painted areas....just NOT true. BEST Get the standard steel wheels...and upgrade when the tires wear out. YEs, they say toyota on the inside of alloys. But they must be toyotas worst idea for a wheel.

Yes, both the rear area mat and the vinyl cover over that area are standard. We bought our Vibe a little over two months ago and paid $200 over the Edmunds listed invoice price minus GM rebates of $1500 and GMCard of $3500. It was a special order from the factory so the deal seemed pretty reasonable to me. Looks like there could still be some bargaining room from the F&F offer - I'd certainly try to get some service deals thrown in.
