... and the hubby's. Thats right my lease is finally up on Sputnik, my 2003 Satellite Vibe that I leased starting Aug 02 (wow 4 years already!). We are going on Thursday to purchase it at the option price of $12,000. It has 49,000km on it. The salesman at the dealer says he has a 2003 Vibe with 54,000km on it for sale for $16,000. So I guess we're getting a decent deal! Maybe now the mod bug will strike me??

I keep thinking US$. $12,000 CDN might not be bad depending on options. And it is worth $500 to avoid the hassles of a lease turn-in. Unless yiu are buying something else from them it always seems like there is some damage claim, or the tires are worn etc.

We turned in the cavalier in 2002 and actually got money back.Sputnik is fully loaded. I think I got all the options when I got it except the 6 disc changer and nav system. Its got the sunroof, side airbags. Wow its been so long, I can't even remember the options! I used to know them like the back of my hand! Either that or turning 30 cost me some memory cells.

when I'm in ontario next month I'm stopping in at my purchasing dealership to find out how much I owe. Cool your keeping yours. Its been my experience that most people return the lease when its up.Now lower the car, put on a cold air intake, header, exhaust, rims, unichip and um... hello kitty exhaust tips or something

I would have gotten an 06 Vibe. I just like having a new vehicle really. I still have stock tires and stock battery too, 4 years later. And Hello Kitty! Gimme a break! I was thinking like maybe tint and a satellite radio!

1. I was thinking - holy smokes, the resale value is awesome! Then I saw the location of your post... $CN 2. Start adding up the parts that'll need to be replaced under scheduled maintenance... don't forget the parts that normally wear out like brakes, tires, wipers, timing, alignments, 100k tune-ups (that should probably be done ~75k), etc etc etc.The finer the detail... the finer your new car will be.

$12,000 cad isn't as cheap as it was 3 years ago...the exchange rate is really low right now, like $1us=$1.12cad,so it's about $10,700 us.3 years ago or so, the exchange rate was about $1us=$1.55cad.that would have made it $7,742 us.quite a difference, eh?US dollar is really weak right now. part of the reason oil and gas are so expensive.
