Or you could do it on the computer or use a notebook. Keep all receipts together with your info of the mileage and dates you changed it.

I don't know many people who bother to change their own oil anymore. Besides having to worry about the warranty it is such a pain to properly dispose of the old oil - and improperly disposing of it should not be an option. If however I was going to change it myself I would go right to the dealer and express my concerns about the warranty and find out what specifically they would need. If you let them know ahead of time and they give you the okay they will be less likely to give you a hassle if there is a warranty issue. Be sure to take notes regarding the conversation such as who you spoke to, their position, and the date. Good luck.
I change my own oil, seems strange to think of taking it in to some business to have it done. I keep a log, and also a piece of the box the oil filter comes in. Most of those boxes have some basic record form on one of the flaps. Since I've had no engine problems with this car, I never needed that stuff. I used up my warranty miles in 04 so I don't keep receipts anymore, but I still record the mileage at oil change in the same spreadsheet I record my gas usage.Plenty of threads here on which oil and oil filter to use, and one or two about how to do it on a Vibe. There are also plenty of threads about people who have issues with "professional" oil changes. Forgetting the cap in the head cover seems too frequent. Double check on the oil change no matter who did it. Check the oil level, look for leaks, check again next week.
Just keep very good records and hope that if you have an issue with warranty and it requires service records... the blame doesn't fall on a bad oil change. Some dealerships will also view in the event of needing good will work, that since you never saw them for service, there is no need to help you out now.

i tried changing my oil myself only once. then decided it was worth the $30 to have someone else mess with it. now, Mav gets to mess with it... or someone else at the shop.
I changed mine today. It is just as easy as waiting in line at the local sealer or shop. I keep record of the changes including miles and date. By the way, If you go to a 10 min. oil change place. GM specs say the oil plug should be out and let drip for at least 20 min. That is hard to do in 10 min. and I do not think too many places take the time to let that happen.
2005 AWD What's your story? It's a wonderful thingMomma always said "Help that is not helpful, is no help at all"
I always do my own oil changes. I bought one of those flat containers with the huge funnel on it to drain and store the used oil. It holds three oil changes. Mobil 1 and a filter are like $30.00 at Walmart in Ogdensburg, NY. I go there all the time for Ebay stuff. Since there are no grease fittings on a Vibe, the oil change places should offer a discount. Half the labour is the lube part.
Yup i change my own oil. I made a log in Excel to keep track of oil, tire pressure, notes, air filter change, mileage and then notes about the car, vin and when to do tranny fluid change, coolant etc. It was such a awesome log that I made it for all my family's cars
there is a place in the back of the owners manual for such routine service items. I only own the one car. So all the receipts for oil purchased with my credit card # on it are surely for my car. I don't put 5w30 in my motorcycles.
